Su35 is naval
later ones had canards and then TVC
I did. They fall under these
No they entered service with AESA
The Su-30 and Su-33 are upgrades of the Su-27, so why mention them and not the 35 and 37?
The Su-33 is the naval version.
The candards on Russian Su-33s and 35s are a bit odd. You certainly expect them to bolster performance, but due to the suspended armament, fuel and hardened gear, the plane performs almost identically (possibly worse) than Su-27.
Are you secretly Pavel Sukhoi? why are you pulling at straws lol you know what I meant.
i thought that were the mk1 and mk2 upgrades, yeah i have no idea about radars, reasons my knowledge is ground focused
I’m confused and curious. That is all.
only pre production Eurofighters had no AESA but production ones did at least for the uk but should be the same with the rest
This is why i believe the EFT is no where near yet due to this unbalance between the West and the East
I think we’re a ways away from production Eurofighters though. We’re soon to get AMRAAMs which I think will be mounted on F-16s, Sea Harriers, Gripens, etc
Eurofighter Typhoon (production) is closer to something like F-22 than our current jets.
Maybe we’ll see Eurofighter DA (Development Aircraft) like EF DA.2 from the UK.
The Tranche 1 block 2/5 can easily be added with only AIM-9Li’s, AIM-9Ms, and AIM-120Bs for all three nations.
Canards and TVC (new engines too) along with the flight computer, in theory, should give it the ability to hang with the EF, it does in DCS at least. If it isn’t the Su-30SM, it’s going to have to be the Su-35…
I’m not sure the USSR/RU has an analogue to the F/A-18C, maybe the MiG-29K.
They all have FBW at this level.
Yeah it just if gajin is willing to do that
so i rechecked, but i think you are wrong, EFT tranche 1 started with the captor c radar
The captor E version is supposed to add AESA capability but still isnt implementet
Yeah but the original mig29 did not i think
Correct, the doctrine did not like single engines, hence the MiG-23/27’s all getting the literally axe.
I remember back in my DCS days, a bunch of flight data circulating on Su-33 showing its arresting gear, strengthened superstructure, thicker gear, wing folding mechanisms all meant that without the canards it would be woefully bad. They give it the same performance as Su-27 as far as i’m aware
Later versions with the better engines, might’ve helped, but the aerodynamics didn’t change so far as i’m aware. The plane is just heavy
