No need to apologize. You and I have a very different opinion on the F-14 and that’s fine. I guess it’s time to walkabout to woop woop.
F-14 in USSR tree would be funny and informative. Like T 80 U in Swedish tree or Bhishma in British or eventually T-90A in US tree.
These vehicles allow different trees to understand how vehicles perform from first hand experience.
US mains would begin to understand how toxic F-14 are if they’re on the recieving end, they also understand how bad T-90A is if they can drive it for themselves. Helps people to realise how good they have it and how bad the other side has it.
Additionally it also aggravates US nationalists. This game should annoy any and all nationalists at any and all costs.
I’m not going to lie. T-90A, even with only the the 3BM42, but especially the 3BM60 is an AMAZING tank. My favorite I’ve played so far.
It also removes individualism between nations.
National exclusive trees simply don’t make sense anymore. KF41 is the main example of these old problems.
Would make a lot more sense if the game adopted trees the way AW did it, vehicles by playstyle not by nation.
I think having playable trees and having usable lineups is more important than catering to nationalist ideas.
Plus how does that work out? You have your choice between 8 trees of tanks which end up using almost the same 120mm or 2 trees with 125mm. Some uniqueness. Same with planes, oh boy I can’t wait to pick between AIM-7 slinger or R-27 slinger.
And years of mixed battles hasn’t showed them that already?
Also in 2023 it feels like it actually takes dedication to actually get hit by a phoenix, they are not hard to avoid.
The difference between giving America a T-90A or Russia an F-14 is that those nations have vehicles that fulfill the same role at those, whereas Italy, for example, doesn’t have an indigenous F-16/MiG-29 equivalent, so it’s necessary to add them.
US doesn’t have any slow useless vehicles with terrible reload and penetration at top tier. Unique role right there. Also allows US mains to find out how Kontakt-5 really works.
USSR doesn’t have a serious interceptor plane, Su-27 is the closest but it can’t really do the same things AIM-54 can, for better or worse.
This is the point isn’t it. Many nations simply don’t produce indigenous equivalents, preferring to import from allies. Or participate in international cooperative developments. It’s not WW2 anymore where large nations try and do everything domestically.
Or check 9.0 in ground realistic, pretty much every tank is practically interchangeable with either a Leopard 1 or it’s a T-62 derivative. Same shells, same reloads, similar characteristics.
I get that it’s important to have things unique and varied, I simply think throwing a tank here or there isn’t going to really erode it much.
Somehow civil war turns off people’s analytical brain, or it softens the impact becase it’s hard for US to steamroll Air RB when 60-90% of both teams are US.
Consider me brain damaged then.
But it’s not about avoiding them but the fact that their mere existence defines the meta, probably a large part of why, if you see someone climbing, you can safely assume it’s an F-14 and be right most of the time. Not really looking forward to AIM-120/RVV-AE hailing down onto ARH-less fodder.
Yeah im sure its the AIM-54 doing that and not R27ER lol.
The T-90A fulfills the role of an MBT. There are plenty of those that America has.
Russia has the MiG-29, which is an astronomically better interceptor due to the R-27ER.
And finally, you are advocating for everyone getting everything, rather than those that need something getting said thing. These are not the same things. No, the Leopard 1 and M60 are not the same. No, the T-62 and ZTZ88 are not the same.
The R-27ER is more meta defining. A very large portion of the playerbase hugs the deck because they know their SARH missile stands no chance against those things.
obviously, how else would you know what im about to say? you cant read my mind
Or god forbid the R27ET which is arguably closer to what the AMRAAM experience will be, only difference between it and early AMRAAMs is mainly the fact AMRAAM will obv give you a RWR warning.
damn i didnt know the et can lock 40km away
r27er isnt the reason people hug the deck, it just enforced that tactic
f14 era was when ground hugging was starting to get used, then we got mig 29 which levelled the playing field and then we got er so the other countries started hugging the ground.
gaijin has to stop making the ground a safe spade and punish those that are not willing to learn ANYTHING about top tier or how to play it, but ofc they wont because as whoever from gaijin said before, its a balance thing
it is not an aim 120c equivalent
I don’t know about that one, mate. We Aussies have some pretty wacky powers.
if i didnt have any level of intelligence i wouldnt be writing this now would i
wow its as if this games community has some bias towards the non russian countries…?
hmm i wonder why
I never said that there isn’t bias toward other countries. I was specifically referring to him, not to the community as a whole.
