Range is not everything. The Derby is developed from the Python 4, and would thus be able to perform very well with the AIM-120C-5.

Again, range is not everything. In fact, range matters very little on all but EC size maps for top tier BVR missiles.

Therefore would be against Gen 3++ with Aim-120B? Sounds ideal for Israel, as they have F-16 or F-15 for Aim-120C5 level

Being less manoeuverable than the Python 4 does not mean that is doesn’t have great manoeuverability.
They can just get some high-end Kfir instead. MiG was only an export modernization package while Kfir series continued to be produced in many variants
