One thing that make COIN aircraft so good is extreme flexibility some with turrets can do orbit attacks and then switch to rocket runs if a heavy target pops up.
Also so many field mods (you cant bolt that to the plane o wait you did)
COIN aircraft like the AC-130 are designed to operate under air superiority tho. They are pretty useless when theres enemy air to air capability

I highly doubt that a vehicle like the AC-130 could even fill a reasonable role in wt besides being a punching bag for guns and missiles
