I always felt like it would be cool if APCs could “build” anti air or anti tank nests using infantry, similar to how the top tier SPAA can deploy seperate launchers
The building system they were talking about when the ammo crates were added could have included nests like that, but that building feature probably got scrapped/abandoned
its a fair complaint but at the same time from a business stand point seems like a smarter move, what is gonna draw more people in adding strat bombers at a BR where they will be even more food for fighters as most lack self defence weapons or adding infantry that they can shove into all of the new trailers
A building system combined with towed armaments would have been awesome, maybe with infantry we will see something like this? In GRB, each nation has a line of APC’s, and the upgrades could be different squads of guys, such as anti tank, anti air, or just standard infantry. Use standard infantry to attack these towed armament emplacements, which also operate like APC’s except its just standard issue weapons for defense of the armament, and a vehicle that tows a howitzer or something.
The resources they spend on infantry could be used to improve the game in general, rework gamemodes, create better maps, add new (good) mechanics, etc
They seemingly abandoned the Sim modes, the assault modes, Heli PvE and the whole campaign system, maps keep getting worse instead of improving, new tech keeps getting introduced hap-hazardly without properly balancing them, the list goes on.
But, again, the spare resources get used to add infantry while existing modes are just left to rot.
The new World War mode could probably be here already, had they not started working on infantry.
giving IFVs something similar to how armoured warfare did it would be cool where you can sit still and deploy a squad of soldiers that will ambush enemy tanks that get near to it
