No, but it 's not currently available in Mobile either - all the ships that would have it, instead have the turret hidden on the model.
modern destroyers when
I don’t know, it was like a month ago, perhaps even longer
The system was very similar to that one for helis without modelled modules, so taking a certain amount of damage (a minor amount was enough more often than not) would disable weapons AND countermeasures
What part of the plane was damaged didn’t matter
i mean…
the most modern destroyer in the game iirc

my theory is that they prob wont do modern destroyers cuz of modern warships, same deal they doing with enlisted wich is bull but it is what it is (feel free to correct me on that however as im not trying to do misinformation here) just so many oppurtinutes i feeel is ruined cuz they dont wanna challenge other games
I don’t think Modern Warships has anything to do with that. That game has borderline sci-fi vehicles lol
fair
Ok that’s ass and not at all something I want to see lol. The damage I’m talkin about is like several dozen 30 mil rounds pumped in someone’s plane, not a light breeze from a missile farting 3km away
Yeah, I don’t think ARB needs detailed damage models like tanks and helis
Disabling the weapons of severely damaged planes should be enough imho
if i am right, enlisted got modern day game mode but simply in a custom server witn no reward.
Q: Bluewater fleet trees are mostly seeing the addition of pre-WWI, WWI and WWII ships. Will we eventually see Cold War or modern ships in 2025?
A: The game already has ships from the Cold War era, but more modern weapons such as long-range anti-ship missiles and all their accompanying mechanics look like a rather difficult challenge to implement in a real-time online PvP game. So at the moment, we can’t yet give exact forecasts or even guarantees that something like this will appear in War Thunder.
Isn’t Enlisted effectively on life support at this stage, which is why so much of its infantry content is now being funnelled into War Thunder instead?
From a development perspective, it’s hard not to see the logic.
They’ve already invested years into building infantry assets, animations, weapons, and mechanics for Enlisted, so repurposing that work rather than letting it fade away makes perfect financial sense, especially if the long‑term future of Enlisted is uncertain.
Porting existing systems into War Thunder is dramatically cheaper and faster than developing new infantry content from scratch, and Gaijin has never been shy about consolidating their projects when it benefits the bottom line.
They’ve publicly stated that infantry in War Thunder will be limited to Korea‑era and modern‑day scenarios, but given their track record, I wouldn’t be surprised if those boundaries shift over time. Once the door is open and the tech is in place, it’s very easy for a studio to “Adjust The Vision” when it suits them.
Thanks for posting that
I was trying to find that one, because I vaguely remembered that statement
Don’t give them any ideas… It’s already costing me an arm and a leg every Major Patch
These systems already exist in War Thunder to some extent, and even more advanced iterations are available in WT Mobile. Given that, it’s difficult to see a convincing reason why comparable missile‑based platforms couldn’t be introduced into the main game sooner rather than later. The underlying mechanics are clearly achievable, as it’s shown in the game already.
The only plausible explanation is that Gaijin may be deliberately pacing content releases to preserve the game’s long‑term progression and avoid overwhelming the tech tree with too many new vehicles each update. While that approach makes sense from a longevity standpoint, it does create a noticeable gap between what the game could support and what is actually being added, i just feels there might be other reasons.
agreed, the “hur hur i fire r73 at him after he beat my ass in a dogfight” gimmick does annoy me quite a bit. But, lesson learned, next time I curbstomp a wallet warrior in a premium su30 or an su33 I’ll just go up and away from their hmd X)
The main reason for the reluctance of adding more modern vessels is the lineup system. An issue mobile doesn’t have.
AShM’s could be surprisingly weak against heavily armoured ships with their platforms not being able to reliably deal with return fire. While at the same time opposing them without heavy armour or proper countermeasures would be an absolute pain (much like how people already complain about bravy, cfa, lutjens)
While mechanically probably not that difficult. BR placement is the main question for modern missile ships
way I read it, gameplay is the main reason we wont be getting them anytime soon (if ever)
imagine slinging AMRAAMs whilst still on the runway, or parking your OSA in a puddle and staring at the radar screen for twenty minutes, that’s what naval combat in the missile age looks like
