Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

@Smin1080p_WT if i may ask, is there any news on the next CM disclosures soon at all? just wondering

As we are only just a few weeks after the last major and the holidays still ongoing, we are a way off currently.

with the next major update only dropping in several months (usually march or April) we expect Gaijin to be on the rest phase of the year which would make it more likely that theres not going to be a lot coming until then

i just hope, if it comes to it, gajins gonna do the sensible thing and add it to both nations.

Its history of being developed for germany in the competition as the next main caliber cannon in the mgcs, together with it being developed/ produced/ tested in germany and never having set foot on british soil. Would read very weirdly in a british only Devblog.

The LAV-25 is borderline a poster child for the USMC. I’m confused on how you guys determine what is in demand or “iconic” because we have yet to get things like the TOW HMMWV, or LAV-25, which are easily some of the most identifiable vehicles ever.

A lot of different ways on many platforms and mediums. Its not just the forum, but the community as a whole. We follow discussions, videos and topics everywhere :)

sadly dev blogs cant realy be trusted at this point anymore either

I don’t think you guys read the Japanese WWII community.

Cough, cough, it’s been five years after the latest WWII TT plane… cough, cough

everywhere?

@Smin1080p_WT Sorry to bother you but I’m just wondering why do suggestions get locked after being passed to the devs? Wouldn’t it make sense for them to stay open so that people can continue to vote and talk about them without needing to create new threads for them?

Dev Blogs are an overview of a vehicle still in development. We are very clear about the information within them:

Please note that vehicle characteristics are still in development and may change before release.

Quite what that has to do regarding my answer with major announcements however I’m not sure.

yes and no

some statements seem empty when they turn 2 years old

Do you guys only add things based on popularity then? Like I said already, TOW HMMWV, and the LAV-25, are easily some of the most identifiable and iconic vehicles of the US military, why have these yet to be seen in game?

We have a few reasons for this. Typically the most popular suggestion topics could go on and on and round and round in circles for a very long time. At some stage, suggestions could be open too long to the point where it draws off topic, needless back and forth or other factors not required for any form of meaningful discussion. Leaving everything open will also keep attention on already passed topics and less views, traffic and interest on other newer or more niche topics. So its also to allow a constant healthy flow of suggestions through.

Passing is a form of archiving and preserving too. So once its passed, the topic is cleaned up to make it as clear as possible and documented in the appropriate area.

If people want to simply discuss a vehicle, that’s what the general forum sections are for.

Cause if EAP is allowed then PMC/private aircraft in general are allowed, and Gaijin has a universal rule of no privately owned aircraft.

Even if EAP wasn’t a private venture, 4x AIM-9Js, and a gun, its 5 minute fuel capacity would make it a rather bleak 11.0 jet.

Kikka and Yak-141 are not private ventures, and both were days to months away from their weapons being installed onto the prototypes themselves.
Kikka very much was not an unarmed demonstrator, let alone privately owned.

Plans can change. This would not be the first or last example of when plans have changed.

LAV-25A2 got closed off after being open for 3 months, 2 years ago. This is definitely problematic for the discussion of a vehicle.

I understand what you mean, but you could just create a post in Machinery of War Discussion or something

Not at all. Otherwise some of the lesser known vehicles would never get introduced. Of course we cant ignore the popular ones also, so there is a spread of both.

This argument can be made for many vehicles in many nations arsenals that we don’t yet also have in game. Sadly we cannot add everything all at once. Lots of options for vehicles remain possible for the future across the board.

If something was stated to be planned and then changed, can there be updates to reflect that the previous stated plans have changed?
