What is the defining criteria for nations with or without AESA?

Specifically looking at Israel.

They do have an AESA equipped aircraft in the form of the Kfir C10, but its

A) 13.0 and not top tier
B) an Event aircraft

So does this count? Or should Israel expect to get something else with AESA specifically as part of the CM chat thingy?

Yeah which is what i mentioned cause at a Brazilian expo they had a single seater Gripen E called the NG. I mean size wise its hard to say but im pretty sure SAAB has called a few of the E model prototypes the NG

And they shouldn’t get it for the foreseeable future, the Magic 2 is still enough for the time being

no? r73 is beyond broken right now. the aim 9x, iris-t, python 4 and mica IR should be added. Russia should not have monopoly on IRCCM thrust vectoring

Gotta add the R-74 as well then

And proper CMs

if people have an issue with ASRAAM they are defiantly gonna have an issue with that

Since this means no hms royal sovereign is there any hope at all to see a revenge class that isnt in the russian tree this year

iris-t is on the level of mica ir and asraam range

As far as i understand it the “NG” is just what they call the concept of what is theoretically available to choose from when ordering a plane. So all the testbeds combined instead of a specific plane with specific capabilities.

Oh KV-1BE for Finland

Pls no smite i just saw this lmao

no? the IRIST has a max range of about 25km someone mentioned earlier that the effective range was about 12-15km

ASRAAM has a max range of 50km (its effective range is more likely around 20ish km)

Pretty sure the MICA IR has way more range than the IRIS-T

It’s literally just a MICA EM with an IR seeker

well womp womp, let russia have unbalalanced 40km r27 infrareds but no long range western ir missiles, seems fair

Still waiting on RB72 lol

I’m still not aware of any western R-27 analogue

asraam, iris-t, mica ir

RB72 is kinda like a R24T if that counts, in age its the oldest IRCCM missile had it entered service and not been for the US threatening to cut trade if sweden made their own missiles

That way the Meteor precursor, wasn’t it?
I guess that would count, if they actually had adopted it lol

No, RB73 is the precursor to that which was a Skyflash with ramjet air
