We don’t know what exactly Gaijin has planned but it looks like a significant amount of tech-tree reorganization. The dev streams later today should explain this.
Unfortunately, I’m not going to be available to update my rumor round-up post live with the dev streams today as I’ll be busy with things that are more important than War Thunder (as hard as that might be to believe). I will try to update it once I’m free.

So the funny part is that the XF5U isn’t actually the “Flying Pancake”. That title goes to its proof of concept predecessor the V-173. The correct nickname for the XF5U is the “Flying Flapjack”
Edit: seems the DCT announcement uses the right nickname. I may be blind
