I guess not with only four vehicles for now. Unless they want to make the saddest line this game has to offer with just these (which would mean three vehicles with the M163 in the SPAA line).
My best guess is that this was part of the leaked “ASEAN” (Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore) subtree from last year, and they just didn’t make any other Thai vehicles because they still have a plan for more. Now after the whole JP/CN controversy I don’t think it’ll be Singapore anymore, they probably just won’t be added in a while and then most likely Israel over either of the more controversial options, but Indonesia would make sense.
Still I think from Gaijins perspective it might have seemed too soon for a second subtree when for others (besides France) there was usually about a year between that and the first. And especially here where I think the second nation would only be added after China got a subtree.
I’d also say this somewhat explains the VT-4 leak, which seems like something they made up to fill the premiums slot that originally was probably a Leopard 2A4 from either Indonesia or Singapore so they could sell something. They probably didn’t really know it’d be so controversial initially.
But all of that is just speculation and a bit of cope, maybe they were just lazy and this has nothing to do with any future plans.

I agree with this. But again, Thai vehicles would be scattered in main lines while Indonesian ones would get their own line. It’s again odd…
Either way I hope they don’t restrict Thai VT-4 to premium. When it’s their main MBT.

If it’s really just Gaijin being lazy I’m a bit concerned about the Stingray.
The production variant that Thailand uses is at least slightly different from the US based demonstrator, so it’d be sad to see them just be the same.

If the US didn’t get the Stingray, i would know for 100% that the stingray in the Japanese TT would be a premium or event vehicle.
I think it might be general restructuring of subtrees too. Like how they’re changing Britain from having a subtree line, to purely class based vehicle lines with mixed nations.
I don’t really like what this means for the nations individually, but it does make the space in the tech trees a bit more universally usable.
I hope so too. Also if it’s tech tree there might be a bit more demand to get some of the many issues of the tank fixed finally.
But for now it’s not added this update anyways, so we’ll see what happens. There’s a chance if it’s added later Gaijin might not want another premium there, since it really just seems like it’s there to sell something alongside the Thai vehicles this update. In a later update this wouldn’t be needed.
