Idk, the F-15J and F-2 seem to be doing fine, they’re not anything meta defining, but neither will the Gripen E. For all intents and purposes ATM a Gripen E would just be a big C with a better engine and a IRST, + a few more hardpoints (iirc 2 more?). It’s not going to solve any of the issues the current Japanese top tier has.

I don’t think that’ll happen, Thai Gripen E will only be delivered in 2029 so I doubt by the time the Gripen E is added to Sweden there will even be a Thai Gripen E yet.
The Indonesian Rafale is probably our best bet for a top tier aircraft here since the first batch will be delivered next year, which is at least a lot closer.
