F-35 is cheaper… if discussion is about purchase price
from what i found the cost of the Gripen E is estimated at 85 million US$ and the EF at around 110 million US$ so it dosent even cost half as much as the gripen
and the F-35 was built for export because the US didnt want another F-22 situation where its way to expensive to actually built on their own

From what I understand though, its also the maintenance cost is much lower as well, about half
but even then you are only going to reach that difference in cost after 20 or 30 years if not more

Yeah, but from what I understand, that was a core part of Swedens plan. Knowing full well the Rafale and EFT already existed, adding a third euro-canard to compete was pretty dumb.
So instead they went for a different slice of the market
and would have the issue of who does it go to since pretty much everyone has a similar claim to it lol

same could be said about the EFT if everyone bought their full orders (if I remember right germany cancelled a lot)
How much did they really pay though? Imo the whole F-35 project should’ve just stayed between US and UK and then later been exported.

Agreed, but it also has the weapons avionics to back it up. It’s probably on par/slightly worse than the Eurocanards. I misspoke when including it with the F-15EX and Gripen. I meant the SU-35.

I still think trenche 4 EFTs will win 9/10 fights against an F-15EX do I think it will be more of a challenger for sure but I still see the EFT being the better plane
I should specify for A2A in A2G unless we get MMV brimstone 3s the its an easy sweep for the F-15EX

Yeah, you’re right — Red Flag stats back that up. There’s a book called EUROFIGHTER by a guy who took part in the Red Flags (can’t remember his name though). He said the Su-27 was built to take on the F-15, and the Eurofighter was built to take on the Su-27. You do the math :)
