I just wanna take a look at the major leak from the previous patch, courtesy of @/gszabi99 ❤
Here is the major leak from last patch
Now I don’t exactly care to look at what we did get since we already have these things in game. What makes me curious is the things we did not get that might be delayed.
Missing Aircraft - F/A-18E and F-2A
The first major addition that didn’t make it last patch was the F/A-18E Super Hornet. The Super Hornet obviously did not make it because it would be redundant with the F/A-18C Late being added. Gaijin may also save the F/A-18E for when they add AIM-120C-5s and/or AIM-9Xs to aircraft. We shall see. I would personally expect it to come next patch or in either of the two Fall patches.
The second major addition that didn’t make it last patch was the F-2A Viper Zero. The only reason I can think of for the F-2A not coming last patch is that it wasn’t ready. By now there is no reason not to add it. Given we got info directly from Gaijin that Japan is getting a jet next patch, we can be reasonably sure the F-2A is coming.
As a side note, I think it would be cool if we got another F-16 vs MiG-29 patch. This could include the F-2A, F-16C PoBIT, F-16V Block 70, and F-16I SUFA for the F-16 side of things, and the MiG-29M, MiG-29K, and/or MiG-35 for the Fulcrum side of things. However, given the F/A-18E is mentioned to have been delayed, I don’t think the F-16C PoBIT will come next patch. Anyways, I digress.
Long Term Leaks
The first long term point that we are given is a strategic bomber mode being tested. Gaijin mentioned another air gamemode in the Community Covert Disclosure that isn’t SEAD. This is likely what is being referred to. This leads into the second point, which says strat bombers are going to be reworked. This would make sense considering a new gamemode would encourage more changes.
The third long term point shows the YAH-56A Cheyenne being an event vehicle. Gaijin stated in the Covert Disclosure that the US would be getting a helicopter next patch, so it’s possible that the Cheyenne is that helicopter. It is also possible that the US will get the RAH-66 Comanche and the YAH-56A will still be an event vehicle, but we will have to wait and see for next patch.
The fourth and fifth long term points discuss multi-vehicle SAM systems being worked on along with HARMs and ARMs being worked on. We now know from the SEAD event that mutli-vehicle SAMs are working, at least for AI vehicles. Gaijin also commented on earlier ARMs being bad in game, meaning HARMs will probably be necessary if Gaijin wants to make ARMs effective (although we should still get all types, even if they’re bad). It’s also worth noting that new top tier SPAA will definitely need mutli-vehicle SAM functionality, meaning we may see ARMs coming in to balance top tier SPAA.
