Dunno about that because at least with F-2 early they can justify no ARH missiles.
I guess they could pick a really early variant of the F-15D but I feel like an F-2 would be more of a draw for the Japanese tech tree as opposed to a non-domestic aircraft (also CAS).
Yea it can take AAM-3, but yea it’s not really appealing as we already have a premium phantom. I think an XF-2A or F-2A early would be more interesting and get people to buy into top tier these days.
The ADTW tested the XAAM-4 on their EJ Kais afaik. Which would be pretty cool to have, XAAM-4 and AAM-3 on a premium EJ Kai, or even a TT one.
Not like they’d ever do something good for Japan outside of naval in the first place.
I think April fools event would be something which will allow to test control over multiple chassis systems, so they can use it later to implement such SPAA systems which they mentioned there:
To what extent I don’t think we know, but given it’s the same radar on the EJ Kai without TWS or anything to support ARH missiles and no mention of J/ARG-1 which is required for AAM-4
Took only a minute to find. It’s not C&P. As for the Object 219M, maybe as an event vehicle. I’d very much like to see the newer T-80BVM added to the game as part of Russia’s researchable top tier.
J/APG-1 is the datalink system, it’s required for the full capability, but not in general.
For example early F-2 models already used AAM-4s before they were modernized with J/APG-2 and J/ARG-1. This way AAM-4 would need o rely solely on IOG, and then only lock within the 15km seeker lock range (16km in game I think), but with no datalink input.
As much as improved reverse speed and better thermals are good… it doesnt bring much difference from existing 80BVM. Wonder if they’re planning on installing Arena-M APS on them too (since T-72B3A with it was apparently spotted in you know there and T-90M being delivered last year)
I can’t wrap my head around how it doesn’t bring much of a difference, especially the mobility aspect. It’s also more “future-proof” in that if even newer rounds were to be introduced, the 2023 version would be the top tier tank in the Russian tree to receive that treatment.
