You know these things wont come when everyone else get their stuff, these things will only come in half a year later for Japan.

Unless if they are going to give it AAM-5’s, otherwise it would just be a normal F-16 but then at a way higher br due to the radar, which is already ingame for halve a year now.
How do you even know it will be under preforming, are you Jesus or something ?

Unless the AAM-3 and -4 are brought up to their real life performance, it’ll essentially be an F-16C with an AESA radar and maybe even without a HMD.
Yeah that’s the point, we don’t know what they will do, so for everyone’s sanity I think it’s best we wait lol
I think the issue isn’t that we know it’s bad, but that being anywhere near equal to other top tiers requires very lenient view of theoretical loadouts and planned HMD, complicated new mechanics for the flight model and new weaponry types for the ASMs.
It can be really good, but it requires a lot of trust in Gaijin to believe.

It’s not that difficult to predict which upcoming aircraft will be good and which one will be mid or even fodder.
Just look at the last 3 updates, all were incredibly predictable in terms aircraft performance.
And no CAS but thats less of a topic with gripens as an option

TBF KFOR has leopard 2s, UNIFIL has leclercs and centauros, not too shabby, with stuff like KTO rosomak, BTR-82A and ZSL92s at side

Bc it gets 4 alright ARH and 4 good IR missiles, good AESA radar, solid FM (still generally worse than Typhoon and Rafale, and slower than an F-15), no HMD, barely any CAS weaponry.
The only thing going for its radar really, armament is mediocre, speed isn’t good enough, manueverability is solid but still not the best, combined with no HMD and slightly better 9M, it’s not going to be very good at dogfighting. It will also suck as CAS with LJDAM and a TGP.
So if it’s 14.0 (and looking at hornet, it will be), it will not be very good
It’s a Japanese plane so there’s precedent for special treatment on that front. But with how R2Y2 went, maybe Gaijin is starting to be more fair in additions
That’s mainly why I said that as gaijin like to give Japan special treatment so god know what they will give it and how many sub variants
Assuming it will be added in the most real configuration, it will not be great, but if they start adding proposed upgrades then it would be pretty competitive
They probably go down the road of adding proposed variants for different roles
