Bc it gets 4 alright ARH and 4 good IR missiles, good AESA radar, solid FM (still generally worse than Typhoon and Rafale, and slower than an F-15), no HMD, barely any CAS weaponry.

The only thing going for its radar really, armament is mediocre, speed isn’t good enough, manueverability is solid but still not the best, combined with no HMD and slightly better 9M, it’s not going to be very good at dogfighting. It will also suck as CAS with LJDAM and a TGP.

So if it’s 14.0 (and looking at hornet, it will be), it will not be very good

It’s a Japanese plane so there’s precedent for special treatment on that front. But with how R2Y2 went, maybe Gaijin is starting to be more fair in additions

That’s mainly why I said that as gaijin like to give Japan special treatment so god know what they will give it and how many sub variants

Assuming it will be added in the most real configuration, it will not be great, but if they start adding proposed upgrades then it would be pretty competitive

Seeing as they are actively removing the R2Y2s, I very much doubt it.

At best they’ll give it a HMD that is supposedly questiinable. Everything else it it’ll likely be close to irl.

Then again, the Finnish F-18C shows that something doesn’t need to have a HMD and doesn’t need to actually be good to be placed at 14.0.

I mean the problem you’ve got is the F-2 will be the last fighter for Japan until the F-35’s, So if it does under preforming then you kinda really gonna suck it up. That’s my 2 cent of the situation unless gaijin adds the Thai Hornet that is.

That is unfortunately the problem we are reaching now with top tier air, we have already somewhat reached this point at top tier ground where only a few nations can advance further.

I don’t think the Thai hornet is very future proof. The 18C hornets are currently already extremely mid (even if they are still fun to fly), I have no doubt that the 18Cs will already be powercrept to hell in the June or september update.

Yeah but that doesnt exclude new trees being announced or any preorder packs. Idk the way they worded it makes it seem like that’s still an option.

M8 trust me I want a new nation since that IGN Poland interview lol, As Renzo said most nations now are up to a point where they only have a couple of things to add and atm sub nations are the priority it seems.

But what other nations actually have something?

Korea is just going to be another China: 90% American and Russian, with top tier being indigenous vehicles.
Poland: a couple of indigenous tanks in an otherwise German-Russian copy-pasta.
Spain: just Italy
Portugal: (see Spain)
Ukraine: literally just Russia but with a new flag
Turkey: majority will just be NATO Copy-Paste
Egypt: basically just Russian stuff

There’s no real countries that do their own thing without being another generic America, Germany, USSR Copy-Paste nation.

It should be unique. Simple as that. If you really want to play Korea, at the moment, you can just slap a Korean roundel on a Chinese vehicle and it is accurate

This is partially why subtrees exist, and while they have their flaws they provide a decent representation of some nations. The chosen host nation isn’t always the most adapted one though

So ok then if that the case then not only don’t we have anymore nations but I now support the removal of everyone else and have the game be Russia vs US : )
