Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

intresting

I think we can leave it as one branch, until j-7E. After him, there was already the J-8 interceptor and the J-10a light fighter. Future more advanced versions of the j-7 will get before to the j-10a, and all Flankers after the J-8.

yeah, it would actually be quite a big upgrade gameplay wise as the F-14A/B radar is a bit inconsistent, especially that 9km ACM range, though it still wouldn’t have a HMD/HMS

Doubt it will be leaked.

Considering how long they let us wait and had their subtle teases in QnA and F-16AJ devblog, and now the complete radio silence, it will most likely be the surprise teaser featured aircraft akin to J-10A for Dance of the dragons.
Maybe alongside J-10B, for no other reason than that it’d be cool to see an established “rivalry” dynamic in a teaser like F-15/Su-27.

XF-2 hopefully replace F-16AJ, F-2B pointless since its just a worse performing A, Super Kai doesnt exist.

F-15 JSI hasnt even been made yet irl anyways

just more powerful and better range right?

Yeah, better range, stronger tracking, and better radar modes, also an IRST which I forgot about

Ya SK was a throwaway but JSI should be a thing eventually and same with their Gen 6 aircraft

Gen 6 is decade/decades away for japan, or anyone else tbh

navy NGAD may fly towards the end of 2020s but definietly not in service until 2030s

Gen 6 Tech Demonstrator flew for the USAF in 2020 tbh

We have to accept reality that Gaijin will add paper things eventually because they want to make money

USAF is a different beast, and tech demonstrator could be EAP type stuff

That’s right, guess we’ll have to see what they reveal then

J-10A was leaked prior to update as usual though

also 6th gen mightve been a prototype/test B-21 possibly?

For over a year now, we’ve had pretty consistent leaks for updates well in advance, also.

Technically a 6th Gen test bed flew in 2016 for Japan, it’s just like with all 6th Gen a very long ways off actually coming to fruition

Su-30SM isn’t going to China unless it’s as the Su-30MKM (which people who don’t want anything ASEAN to go to China will be really butt-hurt about), so maybe Su-30MK2? I don’t know Chinese flankers well enough to know if it can work with the PL-12’s though. It seems the PL-12 is a J-10, J-11B, JF-17 (and beyond) missile.

J-11B, F-2, and Su-30SM should come in their own patch together. Su-30MKK and Su-30M/M2 would be better paired separately, as neither have canards or TVC, nor radar beyond the N001VEP.

No imported Flankers can use the PL-12, only indigenous ones from the J-11B onward.

I’m using MKK and MK2 interchangeably as I don’t know the difference between the two or how advanced the MK2 is, but it would make sense for the Chinese SU-30 to come at the same time as the Russian one, though like I said I would hope it’s part of the attacker line for China, so I’m hoping for J-11B in March and then a SU-30MKK/MK2 with the SU-30SM and F/A-18C in June for a navy fighter focused patch.

Just to clarify I’m not expecting the Chinese SU-30 to be a true top tier 14.0/14.3 aircraft necessarily, I just think it makes sense to come in the same patch to bolster China’s CAS
