Not exactly, Su-27SM uses F-M1 which is the engines on the Su-34 as well.
AL-31FN was a variant specifically tailored for the J-10, the difference is in the position of the oil cooler, but also slightly more thrust compared to the original AL-31F (124KN vs 122KN)
I always, literally always turn it off, the useful part though is the missile warning, has saved me a fair few times and that is what I like about MAWs, massively boosts situational awareness (will be much more useful if gaijin stopped making it pick up flares)
No, but the Brimstone 3 upgraded replaced the IOG on it , which in game should translate to a 0 IOG drift. Which would give it psuedo GPS guidance. with no mmW still. This would be a reasonable compromise and make them into something like the GBU-39s
B3A enhancements include a new microelectromechanical system (MEMS)-based tactical inertial measurement unit (IMU) developed by Atlantic Inertial Systems (AIS) and a new enhanced autopilot for improved precision at extended ranges. B3B, awarded in 2020, incorporates a range of improvements, including a 20% increase in range. An improved battery also provides an additional 30% engagement duration. - Source
Any bomb IOG can. KH-38s and AASM will track a target through smoke using IOG and hit perfectly.
Why is the Brimstone being able to hit a stationary target OP, especially as it should have mmW that isnt modeled at all and the tiny warhead would mean little splash damage kill potential
No IOG drift would be nice, at least then it would have limited use in air battles, though as always air RB needs a significant rework to make CAS a useful part of it
Yeah, main reason why I want them. at the moment, 0 value to ever taking Brimstone 1s on the Typhoon in Sim. Brimstone 2s might be of more use, but the lack of FnF really limits what you can do with them. Making them Psuedo-GPS guided would help a lot
not really, AASM has GPS, and KH-38 is just fast and has many explosive, so it will hit before drift too far. if smoke earlier, KH38 will also not hit I believe
That would be LOAL which it shouldn’t have as far as game implementation, it’s one of the specific reasons given as to why the Brimstone is laser guided only
not loal, it’s similar to the problem when you fire a fnf to someon close to a dead vehicle.
both of you are in fov, and when the missile get closer, the missile will have chance to go to the dead one not the live one.
or, fire a fnf in long range with point mode, when it gets to close enough to get track, and someone is in its fov, it will track the guy
the reason why LOAL is denied, one is things like KH-59, controlled by data link, another is like Brimestone, you can’t controll what radar seeker’s huge fov will lock, and cause some friendly damage
