Sure but then that goes back to your previous statement
but with the IRIS-T, Meteor, and ASRAAM still available for the Eurofighter, alongside better AIM-120s and AIM-9s, I don’t really see the Eurofighter falling out of meta at this point, the only thing that could do that would be 5th gens which as you just said, you don’t believe are coming, at least not with their full capability
plus one rando lowbie premium, if they keep to the pattern (note, that’s an assumption… they have 12 old navals to choose from that aren’t coupons or cruisers, they did the first 3 plus a rando insert last time).
Russia is never going to be META again by any stretch of the imagination, exactly the same can be said about the US given that advancements in radar/missile tech are far more even from here on out (with EU nations + China soon outperforming any US 4/4.5 gen in terms of range) besides in a war thunder without stealth aircraft and long range fox-3s, then it’s the EFTs, J-10C, Gripen (E), Rafale and Israeli top tiers dominating due to their IR missiles on top of identical or better AMRAAM/equivalents to the US jets.
So in a war thunder without stealth the US will be bang average and outperformed by over half the nations in game
J-10C will be pretty underrated, it deleted both the J-16 and Su-35 (sold to China) in DACT.
It’s probably the best PLAAF fighter outside of the J-20/J-35.
War thunder is in no way influenced by irl reliability since it would ruin the viability of certain nations at certain brs, stating this shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how gaijin models vehicles and equipment in game.
If there are credible sources stating the PL-15s can hit up to 200km then the devs will use those and as a result in game it will have 200km range, doesn’t matter if it’s unreliable irl, if it can do it then it will somewhat reflect that in wt.
And besides the J-10A is still the king of dogfighting even after the Rafale and EFT so just imagine one with less drag and more thrust (or even TVC),
underestimating chinese military advancements is the first step to losing your supposed ‘technological edge’ and we’ve seen that reflected irl
I do worry about this, Meteor is too suitable for the game, and will make it too powerful to any other missiles. unless you bring in huge monster missiles like R-37M or PL-17
It is more controllable at low speeds, has easier to control PSMs, has more responsive canards (eft needs theirs fixed, currently underperforming), the only places it looses to the EFT in a dogfight is thrust (meaning it struggles to keep up in a vertical but you can wiggle out of one easily) and energy retention, but besides that it’s simply better (and that’s coming from a EFT fanboy)
According to Statshark the J-10A actually slightly outperforms the EFT and Rafale at subsonic speeds in terms of max turn rate, although this is by a very tiny amount (below 0.5 degrees per second).
EFT and Rafale both are better at supersonic speeds though, by quite a bit.
Not how it works, the Meteor has a throttlable motor, if by close range you mean <5km headon shots then sure it will be marginally slower off the rail but operating at high capacity they are equal (besides the Meteor has a better seekerhead so i trust them over an AMRAAM)
