The F-22 is also a hugely iconic aircraft that people want to see, and there are many reasons why the F-22 would be significant if added to the game without its primary attribute/function (stealth). It would still be a very formidable aircraft just based on its flight performance alone.
However, it would not be right to add the F-22 without its stealth. That is the case here with the Eurofighter/Rafale by not having their sensor fusion and reduced signature added alongside it which are their primary attributes/features.
Honestly i don’t think the F18 will be good unless gaijin decides to make it a late model of the C, even then considering speed is a huge part of the current meta i doubt the F18 will stand up to the current options though i am entirely ready for gaijin to release it in a state where its the 2nd best jet in game. Regardless Gripen or F15 will be enough for Japan (fingers crossed for F2, thats what im hoping is added)
Tbf gripen was added after F16 and unlike eft doesn’t have speed, so imo it could’ve been here with the f16C but it wasn’t, it came with the f15. Eft should’ve imo come with the f15E/I
It may not be, but it needs to be added, the US has a 14.0 now so it’s the perfect time to go back and fill in the gaps, the SU-30 that should come in the same update will be a nice boon for Russia too
Again i just dont see the f18 filling the 14.0 slot on two or 4 other nations one of which needs a vehicle to even justify the trees existence.
I think it will be a better Su-27sm honestly, though gaijin has been known to release vehicles in broken states then nerf them months later. Or 6 times within a month for balance and not historical.

tbh the R-77 isn’t a bad missile IRL, Gaijin just completely messed up the drag modeling on it, they really need to fix it or make a rush to the R-77M with its more standard fin setup if they can’t
And I don’t think it necessarily will, though if it can be good enough for 14.0 that would be nice. They really should add the J-11B for China, the F-2 for Japan, and the SU-30 for Russia, either this or next patch, that would cover 14.0 for all but Sweden, then if the F/A-18 comes in the June patch it’s perfectly fine, and the Gripen C gets at least a radar update to AESA, that’s probably as much as we can hope for with the first 2 updates, getting everyone to just about 14.0, though I can see the Typhoon being bumped to 14.3 and still leaving some nations behind.
