One of the many Supersonic VTOL designs britain came up with in the 60s,70s and 80s, It was later developed into the P.1216 (above) in which the UK government was interested in, however it was cancelled due to cost savings as the UK couldn’t afford both the EFT and P.1216 (and EFT at least had a guarantee for several hundred airframes) so was cancelled in the late 80s/early 90s and the Shar FA.2 was chosen as the next VTOL fighter
there was also a Harrier 3 design in the mix as well, which just took a GR.5 and put the FA.2 radar in it
In my opinion. gajin might considered Su-30MKI (Early) because russian equipments, not advanced, Su-30M2 & Su-30MKK equivalent and before upgraded Super Sukhoi
Thats how it should be
The Su30MKI has great A2A and A2G armament, on a decent platform. Thrust vectoring doesnt exist right now so it will be interesting to see how the 30MKI performs if/when its added
I feel like this probably describes 90% of post war British aerospace projects lol.
Throw a few million designing something whacky, cancel it and watch those millions vanish, and then all stand round confused when in 2024, freddo’s cost 49p.
On the plus side J-15 is about one ton lighter than the Su-33, and can fire Fox 3s as it has a decent radar. Might be a bit awkward for them to come in the same update lol.
