Arguably the Chinese players weren’t too happy about this either. So we shouldn’t blame them for it.
Sure, there was the general acceptance that is expected when you receive something, but most I’ve seen would’ve preferred their own vehicles to be fixed and added, as well as more logical subtrees like Bangladesh, Pakistan or North Korea.
Then again it didn’t happen, and since it was never officially announced. Gaijin has a perfect opportunity to revert their plans back and pretend they never even considered something like this in the first place.
I find it far easier because you can dictate when to evade how to evade and where to evade at altitude and I find that chaff is more effective at altitude plus youre faster so its easier to outspeed ARHMs, when down low you have only 1 way to dodge ARHMs only one real path and you have to pray MP works in your favor and that you dont have to fly over a hill or mountain and put yourself outside of MP whereas at alt you can tell when youve bled a missles energy much easier plus dragging missles into dense air from thin air works wonders and you can easily reclimb and re-engage your target
Learn to defeat missiles properly. This multipath straight line magic shield BS should not be a thing to begin with. Once they nerf it further to realistic levels, all you multipathers will be screwed.
I think my biggest issue with ASEAN as a subtree is that it is just too undefined.
There is a pretty significant split in nations, where there is the founding members with their mostly western equipment, but also nations like Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam that joined later and mostly operate redfor equipment.
Yet Gaijin (as it was leaked) seems to be moving them all together, which I believe shouldn’t be done outside of a standalone ASEAN tree.
I personally think there is 2* distinct parts to ASEAN that Gaijin can split when doing subtrees.
Founding nations of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines Singapore, Thailand. These have mostly western equipment and could form a coherent subtree for Japan
Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar with mainly eastern equipment and closer ties to China. These could be part of a larger subtree for China alongside Bangladesh, Pakistan and maybe North Korea
*Excluded Brunei since I just lack info. Excluded Vietnam since they don’t really fit either group, being an eastern equipped nation with poor relation to China.
Gaijin seems to have been too hung up on a combined ASEAN to see this separation, which might be their reason to consider changes to their plans. If their goal is to keep ASEAN combined, it should be an independent tree.
That doesn’t mean they still do this though, the leak is fairly old by now and I’m sure they figured this out already since then. For Gaijin this leak was a great way to gather feedback without taking direct responsibility, it wouldn’t surprise me if it might have even been intentional.
