If Gaijin want to keep up the charade that Merkavas are 65 tons of paper (as opposed to the 80 ton, highly protected behemoths they are irl), they could always just let Israel get what it’s actually world class at, and that’s air defence.
Something like Spyder AIO would always ensure Israel is a valuable member to its team, even if its frontline combatants aren’t good enough for tank v tank gameplay.

hell friendly reminder, most of the vocal german mains in the forums here did say when we got told we are getting a second leo after PSO that year that the 2a7v would be way to advanced and wont come
instead we asked for stuff like the 2a6ex etc, we were realistic
and its just the thing that for ground most nations dont have anything left mbt wise, while for air there is still power ups, its just a question of time when they come

It wouldn’t have made much of a difference. The 2A6EX isn’t any closer to the other current MBTs than the 2A7V is now.
The gap between the top 5 MBTs (Strv 122s/2A7s) and everything else is just too big. That gap would be equally big if they had stuck with the 2A6EX.
2a6ex is still stuck on gen 1 thermals for one as a quick example it would have played quite a bit into it

Mate, we’ve provided over a million sources and every time Gaijin just slaps us with “not a bug.”
And plus, Gaijin already threw realism out of the window once they went past the cold war era. Actual specifications of most MBTs around the world are classified, and in this case balancing should be prioritized.

Meanwhile the Strv 122s are also stuck with gen1 thermals and are easily by far better than every other MBT currently that isn’t another 122 or a 2A7.
No matter how much german main cope you add, the 2A6EX wouldn’t be any closer to the Abrams (example from the top of my head) than the 2A7 currently is.

gajin gimped the 2a7v as well and gave it a lot less armor
