While the first paragraph is true, the statement that “PLAGF itself isn’t too happy with ZTZ99A” is IMHO just total guesswork, maybe coming from the frustration from War Thunder players. I don’t see any “lighter tanks” replace the role of heavy combined arms brigade and the ZTQ15 is still mostly limited to specific areas it was designed to operate. Also, we don’t know what the next generation of MBTs will finally become (the so-called 40 ton class MBT may just be some tech demonstrator and not the real deal) and it is at least 8-10 years before we will see them in service.

Rather see the P-1 with the 8 improved Type 12 ssms they have potentially ground attack capabilities.
F-4F ICE has better Mavericks tho, even if its only two of them.

The significantly better flight model of the F-16A makes it easier for the average player to use, even if it only gets AGM-65s, but there are some that would find the Tornado better for them.
