At the Izdelie 750 (R-74M) which is just an upgraded RMD-2 which is in production and in service today.

Depends which CAPTOR was tested and since this test is from 2008, they most likely had CAPTOR-C or any of the other earlier Radars (which were no where near to todays CAPTOR-M, on which said claims are related to).

It’s true, someone made a comment about simultaneously being better than the F-22 while also needing it to come before the F-22 lol. The truth is of course, it’s all somewhere in the middle, but also it’s WT so the truth is whatever Gaijin wants it to be.

Yeah I tried to keep track of what was being said about the EFT by those EFT people over the last months and you pretty much got opinions across the entire spectrum from “ah it’s an F-15C counterpart, it could easily be added” all the way to “It’s the best plane in the world and shits on anything that even dares to enter the sky, it should still be added soon though trust”.

The US was caught sleeping with the BVRAAM, like hypersonic systems. They have failed to anticipate both China and Russia having a BVRAAM before they did. Hell Europe is slinging Meteors and all the US has C and D 120s. I know the JATM is coming, but should the US be in this position?
There is a reason they hastily stuck an SM6 to an F/A-18 in the hope to combat the threat of the PL-15 knowing that the Aim120D carried by the USN has insufficient range to match the PL-15 and the PL-12
So yes even with trillions of dollars for procurement and development the US is currently lagging behind in BVRAAM development and deployment.

The eft is a great plane, but its not a raptor.
And nobody serious has suggested the raptor, but they regularly claim its common.

Isn’t CAPTOR-C just the older name for CAPTOR-M (Mechanically Scanned Antenna)? Just like the ECR-90.
We are likely not getting AIM-9X to begin with.
AIM-9Ls and Ms are historical weapons as well.
More like F-15C MSIP II, which people forget about cause it’s been a silent killer for most.

More like the US abandoned its BVRAAM system because the people lining the pockets of Congressmen weren’t profiting off of it. And Iran, but mostly the corruption.
But yeah, development of a new modern BVRAAM has been painfully slow. And once again the Navy has to make do with what they have because the Air Force can’t figure out how missiles work.
