Yes!!!
I think the M1 Abrams, IPM1 and 2A5 when they released were pretty close to what the pantsir is compared to other SPAA.
Pantsir was nerfed before it was even added, and it has counterparts: CAS it cannot physically frag.
T-2 also wasn’t OP, just misunderstood.
Same with F-14A, 2A5, and CL-13.
Pantsir is superior to no CAS, which is the only way to compare SPAA.
If you’re comparing SPAA to other SPAA you’re doing it wrong, they’re not designed to frag each-other nor are their BRs designed around tanks or themselves, but around the aircraft they face.
I’m a huge JP Godzilla nerd, lol.
absolutely beautifull!
We can get along, I love Godzilla too
So you would say that the Pantsir is just as good as the Tan-Sam?
Because they can both take out planes.
So despite the Pantsir having a SARH missle and 6 cannons on board; the Tan-Sam with just an IR seeker and 6 km all aspect range is just as good?
But even then the Pantsir has more to offer than any other SPAA. Not a single one of the current top tier SPAA can reliably deal with Su-34s, F-15Es, etc if they just climb and deliver missiles/bombs, the Pantsir however is able to deal with all kinds of A2G weapons while the other nations SPAAs can only deal with a limited amount of A2G weapons.
compare the Pantsir to other SAMs not CAS. The advantage that CAS has at all brs even over SPAAs (forgetting regular tanks) is a completely different issue.
Arguably, but given we are not getting a single Pantsir counterpart this coming update based on the leaks, meaning our next hope is March 2025, thats two whole years without a counterpart. Two whole years without a nerf.
I can’t remember anything else enjoying such a period of unaltered dominance. Even in peak 2A5 hell, at least the snail had the sense to nerf it’s reload. Meanwhile here, If anything, they’ve indirectly buffed Pantsir since launch thanks to ammo boxes lol.
The pantsir is by FAR the best SPAA in game, and the only counter against CAS, because CAS at these br’s have 12km+ range weapons, which only the pantsir can counter.
Despite that, it has guns, good guns, and still get scouting, despite other spaa’s not getting scouting when having a gun… E.G. Sidam
HQ-17 might be the first SPAA that matches the capability of Pantsir, although it depends on how Gaijin will implement it. It should have more range than Tor-M1.
I am in favor of Gaijin exploring more options for other nations, as I believe that the Pantsir’s advantage is pretty big compared to other SPAA.
I’d say that at 11.7 onward, CAS is so OP that no SPAA in the game is close to their equal.
Pantsir was late to the game by months, SPYDER is late to the game by almost 2 years now.
@KhorneFlakez1337
Oh wow, Pantsir can frag helicopters slightly faster!
Also Pantsir can’t deal with high-aspect air to ground munition launches anywhere close to effectively, only low-aspect [low-altitude] air to ground munition launches.
@ExecutivOutcomes
The only reason to compare SPAA to SPAA are CAS mains that love never dying and don’t want new SPAA added to WT.
War Thunder needs SPYDER equivalent SPAA, and it won’t get it if people keep lying that Pantsir’s OP/enough/god.
according to the ZA-HVM post it could potentially get ARH/IR LOAL missiles, they still wouldn’t have the range but they would be more flexible
Those still are massive advantages over the competition though…
Arguably the ZA-HVM is close, but even then the pansier has like another 2 & a half km on it iirc? (14.5 KM vs 18 KM)
First time ever agreeing with you Alvis.
at least you can lock onto helicopters… The Tan-Sam needs to be at around 3km distance because of the IR seeker.
It can shoot GBU’s out of the sky because it can track them.
No, its because Russia gets a counter to long range CAS (12km+)
Missile of HQ-17 is stated to have 15 kilometers of effective range.
Ah I am not familiar with Chinese kit so honestly forgot about that one lmao
So you agree that every nation should have its own Pantsir counterpart if not more?
