I remember an interview with British Tornado crewmen in training missions against US pilots. At the time the doctrine of the US, apparantly, was to just go high and fast and rely on sensors and AWACS to pick up the adversary jets.
So the tornado backseater explained they’d dive into the the terrain because they couldnt ever hope to match the eagles up high. And he’d look up high and see 4 perfectly evenly spaced contrails pinpointing where they were.

Then the ADF tornadoes would try to jump them. Half the time it wouldnt work but yeah

A Flanker with PL-12s will be so nice. I am only worried about it only getting base PL-8s without any IRCCM
PL-8B is the definitive IR missile for the J-11B, I can’t imagine Gaijin will leave it out.

Considering that the J-10B is coming and if it doesn’t get PL-8Bs it’ll effectively just be a J-10A with a better radar, the J-11B should also get them.
Every photo you see of the J-11B carrying IR missiles, it is the PL-8B variant.
