in Air Sim many maps have air carriers, you can spawn on them which gives you an advantage in range/maneuverability/suddenness (idk)

The thing is, most of the time post-stall maneuvers are useless outside of 1v1s involving high-off boresight missiles. You’re not going to see a BVR missile coming and be like “Oh crap, it’s time for a cobra to dodge it” because things don’t really work like that. War Thunder high tier air is mostly a mix of BVR and chaotic furballs and that demands your aircraft to always stay fast and be in a good energy state, so I would argue thrust-to-weight ratio, climb performance and acceleration are more important.

Su-33 accelerates slower because it has an inferior thrust-to-weight ratio compared to Su-27. Couple that with the lack of Fox 3s it is objectively a worse aircraft outside of increased pylon count.

It’s likely that the Su-33 will pull harder than the Su-27 at low speed but that doesn’t mean much because if you do, you bleed away all of your speed (courtesy of the current high drag of Flankers when turning) and you become a sitting duck.

Which is completely fair but I find myself in 1v1s more and more often lately

Tornado is 13.3…any Su-27/33 is going to be superior to a Tornado F.3

I’m not sure if it is because of a bug or what, but the detection range for player markers has gone down by quite a bit. I actually like this change because you’re less likely to get third-partied sometimes.

True, but I also find it annoying staring right at someone and not knowing theyre there until a missle is screaming at you going mach jesus

Atleast we are still getting the J-11B, with pretty much the same avionics

It can be reworked, but the biggest problem is that maps feel too small for top tier jets. They can do something like sim where there are two airfields/airspawns to start the game from so that it doesn’t just devolve into one massive furball at the middle of the map.

The F-15E should be an eye opener for thise who complain about “large maps” and the fact that the “large maps” are still too small

I’d argue that it is better in terms of performance. Albeit I like how J-15 looks more, but J-11B is the more “meta” aircraft for War Thunder air.

Tornado gets ARH missiles, while su-33 doesnt (at least irl)

Having every tier 7 and 8 match be an EC map would definitely help, also.

I love it when an opponent F-15E is already crossing to our side only three minutes into a game sometimes (especially on the city map).

Its pretty cancer, Im still basically stock and I get up to 7km going mach 1.5 within like 2 min of a match start

I think eventually they will increase the map size because they will be adding longer ranged Fox 3 missiles. Something like the Meteor would be able to threaten you thirty seconds into a game with our current maps.
