Sub trees are not only for top tier and never have been.
We do indeed have plans to fill gaps in the Japanese tree.

I know that but when its the only 2 sub trees in the game that dont actually reach top tier are both in the uk just feels bad, if im interested in top tier why would I ever go down the subtree if it dosent reach top tier
actually the thing I want the most is the MMEV which was a domestic canadian project that would make a really neat 11.0to 11.7 tank destroyer that can also double as SPAA

Again, sub trees are not only just about that anyways. They fill gaps across the board. Not just at the top.

ive been talking about tanks because as much as I would love to play top tier air, I find the mode really annoying, especially with how dominant the F15E currently is, then why did say france get a 2A5 and 2A6 when they have 4 leclercs? or sweden with the 2A6 when they have 4 STRV122s they clearly didnt have gaps at top tier yet still received top tier vic in their sub tree
I know this is pointless since the best SA can give us is A. a trailed 2a4 or B. the 120 TTD, india on the other had I think the closest they would get would be the T90Mk3 but we dont even know if they built any because russia was supposed to build them but never did

If I may ask? Will it be a native Japanese solution and do I have to hurry with researching R2Y2?
I’m hopeful ASEAN won’t be copy paste with the many unique options they could add.
I think there’s less risk they would block much for Japan air especially, considering that even if we consider all possible Japanese aircraft additions they will really only fill the tree in the WWII era, with much of the tree past rank 5 still unused, which is where most ASEAN aircraft would sit.
I’d also like to see this as a reason to see more Japanese built aircraft, like an Indonesian Ki-36 or Thai Ki-30, as well as new ASEAN camos for existing aircraft like the Ki-27, Ki-43 or Ki-21.
However I also hope the way subtrees are implemented will be reworked, so they no longer block any content from the original nations.
They should receive their own separate trees, not take away from the already limiting 5 lines each tree gets.

but india seems not like a Sub trees ,the other Sub trees all can receive a lot of vehicles in one version sooner or later, but so many versions past ,onlt india never… at most one for a version

ASM-2 might be able to get IOG input from a targeting pod. If that is the case that it would function similarly to a longer range AGM-65G.
The ASM-2B gets GPS input.
The GCS-1 can target geound vehicles, and should even filter out burning wrecks. However it has no IFF and no way to manually select a target, the missile searches the target without player input after the drop. It can work, but it is inconvenient.
But even then, apart from ASM-2 maybe being too powerful, I see no reason not to add these. Even ASM-1 or GCS-1 would still be a nice additions for their intended role, as anti ship weapons.
XGCS-2 is GPS/Laser guided. Similar to LJDAM. It’s also closer to Grom-2 since it’s a glide bomb, not a missile.
