Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Right and who gets pods seems arbitrary. Why F-14 but not F-15, for example?

“Royal Thai Air Force JAS 30 Gripen C/D elephant walk”

More sources since wiki is unreliable

What are you on?

Probably a balance thing since the F-15 is the strongest jet in the game right now

I guess F-14B got them because it would have 60? CMs without but the F-15C has 240 CMs without.

For Britain for example

F3 would be 32 LCMs without
FA2/Gr7 would be 60 CM without
and Tornado GR1 is actually missing them.

Viggen D also would have quite a limited CM count without them.

monkey paw
new top tier BBs but you also get anti ship missiles

You really dont need to spam me with a million links. I get it. Thailand used a few Gripen Cs but because they recently purchased Gripen E/Fs the search results spit back loads of results for them.

So then yes, Japan could get a Gripen C sooner rather than later and has the option for a Gripen E in the future.

Yeah… Wouldnt be surprised if they finally add a top tier BB for Britain and then immediately render the BB meta worthless by adding ASMs that take you out instantly.

AShM wouldn’t be that effective vs battleships, since generally they weren’t made to penetrate thick armour plates.

I’ve seen the Bravy’s SAM one shot a Prinz Eugen before. I really dont put it past Gaijin making it so that ASMs somehow manage to one shot BBs

The only reason why I see players asking for one is just for the Swiss F18. A Swiss subtree would just be more C+P and add more stuff that generally isn’t needed.

There are also other examples, like why do the new benelux f-16s get extra CMs?

I think limited CMs is a good balancing tool and some aircraft (like the F-16As) don’t need them.

Yes and no, really depends on the aircraft. Yes that F-16 getting extra CMs is a wierd balancing decision, but Im personally sat here hoping the Tornado F3s get Phimat for an extra 216-432 Large Calibre chaff sooner rather than later (thats ontop of the current BOL count)

Something like the Tornado makes sense because it’s a bit defenseless at top tier and having CMs to force people to get close is good.

But something like Gripen/F-16s have the flight performance where they can dictate the fight and lower end of CMs kind of balance them.

But yea the overall point is that there’s just weird arbitrary decisions with extra CMs.

Yeah, Gripen could loose 2 pods quite happily

This is why I personally am against a United Korea tree. South and North Korea both fit into completely different niches and playstyles and putting them together is like trying to plug in a USB drive with Elden Ring and trying to run it on a Windows 98 home PC.

Like they are completely different playstyles especially for ground. The tanks do not mesh well at all together because they were primarily designed to fight each other. It’s literally putting an M48 and a T-55 in one lineup. My worry with a United Korea tree is that it’s just going to become China 2 with a lot of early copy paste and late stuff that is almost copy paste but slightly different.
I think they should be split. IMO North Korea to China as a subtree because they mesh incredibly well (ignoring the ROC stuff) and South Korea somewhere else. Not in the US tree, instead as a new ASEAN tree, as a “co-worker” in the Japan tree, or by itself.
I personally think South Korea should go to Japan but that’s like 90% because of Wargame. Although the countries are in a mutual defense pact now or something, and I think public sentiment is as high as it’s been in forever. They cover each other’s weak points very well; for example, Japan has no (real) ATGM planes around mid-top tier, but SK can show up with the F-4E or the F-5E and fill that. Japan lacks an early SHORAD, Korean KM163. Helicopters, etc. etc.
I think as long as they provide a way to access South Korea without having to go through Japan (say, US Rank V and you start in the Sabre) that people wouldn’t complain too much. Doomposters are scary though

could USA get new AGMs for Helicopters next update, if they even can cause i hear that USA doesn’t have anything other then the current hellfires B and K

We do have China and Taiwan though. And West and East Germany. Both are in a similar position.

I know, and I’m not a fan of those either.

Since most AShMs are F&F, and ammo-racking ships requires somewhat precise aim even for Bravy, that seems unlikely considering most of them would probably go for center-mass.
