the only more modern option is CR3 (P) and then whatever it looks like when it enters service.
The Challies used to have a slight niche thanks to the 5s reload, but then the Abrams got 5s on a much much larger ready rack, so comparatively the CR2 is slower with a similarly weak hull hut larger breech weakspot, with a worse sustained fire rate and worse round. the 12.7 Black Night is the same as the 11.7 base model bar the APS and better thermals.
