Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1) (Part 1)

Yeah same, unless the event vehicle is fun.

Both of these seem to be boring beyond believe.

I skipped the pancake cause it was just kinda meh

Weird way to spell fancy Su-30SM2 but alright

I couldn’t not with my premium line up of 10 premium 5.7 vehicles lol

I am gonna use it to grind both of my TT.

Keep your slower, no MAW, two-seater bus while in WT terms our Lord and Saviour Su-35S will be better in every way :D

SM2 possibly getting more countermeasures and spherical RWR, while the Su-35 would be stuck with 80 CM’s and 30± degrees of RWR elevation, I’d take the Sm2 advantages over MAW’s anyday of the week.

Forgot to mention the Su-35 is also heavier.

I can see the Su-35 being less draggier, but probably marginal.

Nah thanks, I’ll just go back to my Ouragan, I’m tired of the sound of my rwr screaming at me

Where Mig 31?

Based on?

So… basically the same as the Su-30SM2 with something like less than ~16 countermeasures ? xD

Fair enough xD

Probably in the pipeline, destined to be USSR’s next event or squadron vehicle or something.

(Can you tell I still disagree with the MiG-25PD or MiG-29M being an event/squadron vehicle?:)))

I need Mig 31

Which one?

All

Based on this report of underperforming antenna configuration Community Bug Reporting System, the Su-30SM2 presents itself with extra L-150 knobs on the back and under the nose, meaning it might have full coverage with those, such knobs aren’t present on the Su-35, leaving it with ±30 elevation.

And based on the fact that the Su-30SM2 uses 112 countermeasures IRL

Nah that would just be annoying.

Really only 2-3 variants would need to be added. The rest are redundant at things a Su-35 is perfectly capable of doing.

Variants in question:

  • MiG-31, baseline version with R-33, R-60M. Could be “swapped” to include MiG-31BS instead as War Thunder’s ‘initial’ MiG-31.

  • MiG-31M, upgraded version with R-37, R-73, etc.

  • MiG-31BM, multirole chunky fast boi. R-37M is literally its whole personality

  • MiG-31K, quite literally a one trick pony as it’s the only one that “only” carries Khinzal (can also be fitted with r-73 if I recall) and would be the least likely to be added since it does literally nothing else in the Russian Air Force.

Fine, Su-35 still better :P

IRL it surely is, since the SM2 shouldn’t have neither the IRBIS nor the AL-41’s, the WT SM2 stole the Su-35 show by bringing its main upgrades.

Irbis I understand, but AL-41s are documented enough to come to the conclusion that it has (or would) have them?

Can’t wait for the “sudden” nerf down the road for the SM2’s rightful Bars radar xD

Personally,
MiG-31BS (31B aka the standard “first” model, with an IFR probe) w/ 60Ms/33S
MiG-31BM w/ R-37M/R-77-1/73
Maybe like, some schizo MiG-31BSM for the future if it ever gets R-74M, Izd.810/180, etc
and MiG-31I as an event/squadron aircraft.

If things stay as they are Su-35S will be worse excluding weaponry options and MAWS/LWS

Something something Su-30SM2 being incorrect weight wise therefore lighter than 35S, ignoring the STILL missing extra CMs, alongside the available increased RWR coverage

Yeah but like I could also have all

AL-41F-1Ss have only extremely recently been supposedly fitted to some 30SM2s, this wasn’t the case back when it was added.
