You forgot about F-16A MLU from China, F-16A ADF from Italy and JA37D from Sweden
simply because well it wouldn’t?
AMRAAM A isn’t better than AiM-7M with a good lock
Because R27ERs are insanely powerful and outrange AIM7M by a ton. Giving the platform Fox 3s like AIM120A/B doesnt solve a range issue but allows for a better way to not just die headon to these insanely good missiles
Purposefully, because i’m not sure how much more kit these jets can carry
Realistically though, they can just give PL-12 to J8F and call it a day.
Gripen D I don’t think should get anything else. You dont want Gripens fighting at absolute top tier
F-16A - six missile pylons wired for both AIM-9 and AIM-120
JA37D - six pylons wired for AIM-9 with 4 of them wired for AIM-120
It will never be absolute top tier but I do want to fight top tier in my Viggen D.
Y’gotta remember, AIM-120A is pretty much just AIM-7M with an active guidance seeker. AIM-120B is just the same missile with software updates and changes to how it can be programmed.
It’s only when you reach AIM-120C when you see AMRAAM become absolutely horrifying and would need a counter
I had to find out that R-27ER performance is HEAVILY dependant on the Plane’s radar in a Frustrating way yesterday
on sth like a Su-27 (which I suppose has a better radar than my MiG-29 9.12A) it could absolutely be a counter to Early AMRAAMs
however now that the MiG-29 9.12A/G radar is as “good” as it should’ve been from the beningin and essentially the Missiles loose most Longer range engagement on those 2 Airframes now (I can’t speak for the Russian ones)
AIM-120A and B difference would be similar to current AIM-7F and AIM-7M. AIM-120C would only be slightly longer range than AIM-120B but at cost of lower max pull ~35G > ~28G. AIM-120C-5 tho would be a problem since it got a new engine which significantly increased the range.
su27 uses n011 which is worse than n10m
also worse range iirc
Germany doesn’t use the DM43, It can still use the DM53.
sir this is the Copium addiction thread
nor does Poland on their 2PL they use DM63 exclusively
The DM43 is a export round, but why do you want to cripple the Leopard 2a7 ammunition choices ?
DM53 would be fine, plus the Leopard 2a7 never ever fired DM43 in the first place.
To make 2A7 11.7, but it’s clear we’re getting 12.0 for these new tanks.
Then it can be 12.0, why do you want to compress the BR ?
That’s what I’m saying. DM53 2A7V at 12.0, perfect addition.
AIM-120A and AIM-120B are the same missile, with no improvements to range, just the ability to load software onto it differently. C is when they gave it different fins and stuff
You can make the Leopard 2a7V a 12.3 vehicle while the baseline 2A7 can be 12.0, we need to decompress the BR not compress it.
Base 2A7 is a 2A6 for game purposes.
The 2A7 is just a 2A6 with better thermals; it would not having a higher BR.
