Well, it’s a bit like the Yak-141, but this time it was actually fully completed, flew and isn’t for a nation that doesn’t actually need a prototype to fill top tier spots
We do better alone, indeed. x))))
And don’t start it, other EF country actual are made on Germany.
Seems like it was pretty typical for france at the time. Start a program with other nations, realize that they had to make shared decisions and just going “nah we out”.
That is true and Britain did ultimately rejoin. The only Boxers in british service are APCs though, at least for now.
Wonder if the version of the J11 we get will be able to mount the Chinese missiles
they did post a boxer variant with javelin missles here earlier that the UK developed
Is that why the F-35 is selected all over europe over things like the Rafale and EF2000?
End of the day, we end with what is needed for our needs
I just wasn’t aware we started also on the Boxer. Cool to know.
to be fair the EF2000 primarily is an A2A fighter, and doesnt have the capability to carry atom bombs
Pretty sure won’t be this update. Only J-11B or later versions can mount Chinese missiles. Likely a J-11 or J-11A will be added in this update.
It should be, just the PL-10 and PL-15 seem to be limited to later models
It probably could but then the Eurofighter would have to be certified for it by the US, which involves checking the technology and stuff. You can probably guess why this hasn’t happened yet…
F-35 and
The two are not the same category. The F-35s have no opponents in the west, perhaps the F-16 and Saab-39 from the previous generation.
Afaik France proposed to share nuclear programs with Germany, but they refused.
They prefer to stay in tie with USA than working with Europe.
oh look dev blogs. I sure love being right
they way most of our projects end… i am happy we did
Dude I only just pointed out that only one has been built it seems like you need to cope more
Nah dude, i see you coming, i know you. You gonna do anything to make this things not coming x)
To be fair at least for the dutch F-16 replacement the EF never stood a chance.
Our airforce likes the US airforce, it’s our closest airforce ally. We would have likely gotten a US plane, even if it was worse, for interoperability.
Uh, what other fifth gen fighters are there to choose from?
