Gaijin stated this on the KF-41 matter. If the user of an export vehicle is ingame, it will go to that tree, not the manufacturer.
Id say its like if you got the ztz 96a and gave it some tech from the ztz 99a
Im not sure why your making that conclusion, we already have several examples of multiple nations getting the same vehicle, no reason why China couldn’t also get the VT-4 since it’s their tank at the end of that day, plus we already have the MBT-2000 which the VT-4 is based on
China doesn’t use MBT-2000 either yet we have that in the chinese tree. Chinese export vehicles will end up in the chinese tree.

Then China could just get a Pakistani VT-4, or the VT-4A1 shown at a defense Expo with an APS.

Pakistan isn’t ingame so the MBT-2000 could only go to China. If Thailand got added as a japanese subtree, the VT4 would go to Japan (Thailand) and not China, as was the case with the KF-41.
Like I said, their are still other versions of the VT-4 that can be added, and the MBT-2000 was added at the same time or after anyways right?

Again, there would at the very least also be the option of the Pakistani VT-4 or the Expo VT-4A1 currently shown off by China

Yes but it’s not ingame as a subtree/tech tree.
Yeah I don’t think it’s official yet, but it’s pretty obvious that if Pakistan does become a sub tree, it will come to the game as part of China

Neither is Thailand yet, so that still makes it just as much of an option currently, plus they could just pull the SK and suddenly add it to two nations
Yes. Israeli vehicles were in multiple trees.
