Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

You guys are getting way too optimistic from those statements from Smin. I don’t think he was meaning to imply we are getting foreign vehicles at all, just that we shouldn’t expect anything good.

I mean that a pretty huge clue

So Britain doesn’t need anymore CAS, We haven’t got a domestic fighter to fill the fighter gap and we are going to get a fighter aircraft. There is only one way too see this and that is we are going to get a fighter from someone else.

Where it’s possible to do so, we always find candidates to fill those gaps

I’m kinda expecting them to say, “and in this case it wasn’t possible” lol. Sorry to be a negative neville, but I’ve been disappointed enough times to have learnt my lesson.

It was confirmed, so it very much is possible.

What was confirmed? AFAIK the only thing 100% confirmed for UK air, is a new jet in the update. That could be SeaHarrier 2 though.

Yes, and?

SeaHarrier wouldn’t be foreign, and also wouldn’t really fill the top tier fighter gap. It’s a subsonic CAS platform refitted with a radar and AMRAAMs.

You guys were talking about a new top tier British fighter in general, and the SHarrier is a strike fighter, not an attacker.

He ritually teased a fighter

  1. He said Britain isn’t in need of anymore CAS in in the top three ranks,
  2. He said there are no other fighters that can fill that role from a domestic company

The FA.2 is classed as a Strike Fighter?

Yes.

The Cr2’s mantlet is ¼ it’s entire turret face, unlike other tanks. Its an insanely large artifical weakspot that needs to be fixed for the tank to be viable.

Two things to unpack here: the LFP brick is actually a giant slab of Dorchester composite armor. It is not an ERA. It’s entirely inert.

Secondly, Armor Shield R is NOT used by the British Army. This is a myth I have to KEEP disproving. The British Army uses ASPRO-HMT. A similar, but STANAG 5 product from Rafael. ASPRO-HMT is used on the bulldog mk3, TES, and warrior. Its their standard ERA.
The 84mm value is backed up in the topics i’ve made on this forum, alongside the supporting evidence and sources to disprove it being any better or any worse. Its not STANAG 6 Armor Shield R.

The M60s ERA is specifically referenced in the code. You can also find screenshots of this laziness in the topics i’ve made.

Appreciate the support but be careful of spreading misinformation. The Armor Shield R thing is a complete myth with no substanciated evidence to support it beyond “UK uses Rafael for ERA” they do. But not this product.

if the leak is to be believed, the sea harrier and Tornado FSP would be just worse then the F15 and Su27

Let’s see our points here:

  • Got no Cas problems (so unlikely to be a CAS)

  • Got no domestic Airframse to fill the fighter role

  • Will always find candidates to fill a gap

It looks like a Commonwealth aircraft to me. Well, there are a few other possible planes these two seem the most likely:
SA Gripen (with an alt-history/Ahistoral load out)
F-18 (unknown if it would be Canada’s or Australia’s)

There are the more out there answers like something Russian from India…

It’s designation is FA, fighter-attacker.

But the point still remains - a subsonic fighter is not going to fill the gap at top tier air for the UK. Even with AMRAAMs. We’d be better off with a Tornado getting AMRAAMs.
