It probably could but then the Eurofighter would have to be certified for it by the US, which involves checking the technology and stuff. You can probably guess why this hasn’t happened yet…

Afaik France proposed to share nuclear programs with Germany, but they refused.
They prefer to stay in tie with USA than working with Europe.

To be fair at least for the dutch F-16 replacement the EF never stood a chance.
Our airforce likes the US airforce, it’s our closest airforce ally. We would have likely gotten a US plane, even if it was worse, for interoperability.

looking at the Eurocopter, MGCS and FACS and the other projects , i am happy we dont share an atom project. One of the biggest problems is that projects of french- german partnership doesnt end well because both factions just want to different things
