This is one of the biggest issues imo. As tripod said the US Tree (And Russian one for that matter) aren’t hurting for top of the line meta aircraft. They can go for a few patches without receiving new top tiers and instead get more midtier jets like the century series to hold them over. Even more early jet attackers or things like the A-6A or A-7A would be great additions.
But alas things like that don’t generate hype or make as much money so they will probably never see the light of day accept as probably event vehicles that few people will grind and quickly forget about or be added a few years to late (F-111A for example).
Yeah, for this reason I’ve pretty much given up on getting any vehicles I want outside of a few battleships. They add so little new or interesting content below top tier I’ve just given up hope.
Not like it matters to them, my 70 bucks every few updates isn’t as interesting to them at whales spending hundreds every patch.
A lil off topic but it’s actually a common myth that the F-35 uses the same tech as the yak 141. The F-35 VTOL tech was already designed before Lockheed ever came into contact with the Yak corporation. Plus it should be obvious if you actually look at how it works anyways, the F-35 uses a lift Fan unlike the Yak-141 which else two small engines, and the F-35 swivel nozel actually came from an earlier design that never left paper, from Convair
yeah the engine arrangement for what the f35 would later use was patented in the late 60’s iirc by convair for the model 200, which lost to the funny looking XFV-12
I think a lot of people just see the visual similarities between the F-35 and Yak-141 and automatically assume the F-35 uses stolen tech, especially when they hear that Lockheed did talk too the Yak corporation(even tho all Lockheed ever got out of that deal was just raw flight data too better tune the F-35’s fly by wire system
I was talking about the Convair 200, which has a lot of design features that would later be used in the F-35, but these features are falsely attributed too the yak 141, although you could also make the argument that the XVF-12A was even more important as it used thrust from just a single engine, and redirected it through the plane to achieve VTOL, like how the F-35 does now.
Lockheed provided funds to get the Yak 141 produced into a prototype, but the lift system is similar but different. The F-35 is a more direct descendant to an earlier project said below
You had made a false equivalency here, since it is undeniably true Russia is using French optics. The F-35 has no relation to Russia.
well means as well that germany only will get the F4F ice as well, and not some “better” carrier. Guess britain will continue suffer in that case. Germany will join britain in the fox 3 time until eurofighter arrives, but of course britain had it way worse overall
I assume if they do add Submarines to regular naval they’ll be a seperate tree like helicopters are and then the introduction of very early subs would fit
