Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

I did not know that. Interesting.

again, this is a game, not real life

literally nothing would change with new ammo, since the “gamebreaking” era still exists and works against all apfsds the same way

probably they did not yet add a new icon for ARH missiles

ERA would have to be fixed if such ammunition comes, obsiously

it would mean a new modelling for the anti ERA tip and a very limited relikt efficiency against those apfsds

I remember seeing a table of pen for it, but I couldn’t find it even after searching trough like 20 search result pages on the old forum. These are the closest things I could find:

USS Nautilus or maybe the USS Enterprise. Both would be Lovely.

I have to say seeing how slow, clunky, and unwieldy (but still very fun) submarines are in this event i no longer think theyd be op and if they were available id actually have a reason to play naval.

Submersible cruisers might actually be fun to play if they’re added.

K13 my beloved.

Those would be so fun. And imagine all the new gamemodes we could get.

lets see how op you think t90m will be

What does the T-90M have to do with Submarines? The plot seems to have been lost.

the fact that most of the playerbase thinks the t90m would be op, just like subs

It’ll just be another T-80BVM with LWS, it depends on the add-on kit if it’ll be slightly better or worse.

Which there should be better ways to counter Relikt before more of it is added.

Otherwise everyone kind of already knew that Submarines wouldn’t be insane. It would actually give patrol ships an actual reason to exist besides a stepping stone to battleships.

It also has the worse -4 km/h reverse of the T-72s compared to the -14 km/h of the T-80s.

They are, but since a lot of the mechanics/controls in the current test are reused or based on those present in Silent Thunder it 's still useful to look back on to try and predict how future additions will come.

In modelling terms the nuclear propulsion and various sensors are useful to take note of, and the guided torpedoes are too. Agree that the nuclear weapons are likely not going to be relevant though, the AIR-2 Genie has been denied too often( w/ logical supporting arguements ) over the years for these to be a reasonable expectation.

It would only have been useful in extremely specific circumstances, The (Super)Falcon would be far more relevant for all of the Aircraft that could carry them. I’m just surprised that we still don’t have one (F-89H /-89J, F-101B, F-102, F-106)

yeah agreed with what’s being said.

i think they are having a hard time balancing submarines internally, which would explain the 2 events.

not to mention WW2 subs and cold war subs are totally different, with the former being almost incapable of anything under water, quite slow and helpless, and the others having a great depth advantage, guided torps and much greater speed

im talking early days, people would shit their pants if anyone mentioned the t90m

and some still do this

Do keep in mind that the Battle of the Atlantic event does not currently allow the U-boat to reach it 's maximum depth, either the one on the statcard ( 230m ) or in it 's own file ( 110m ).
And that guided torpedoes are present not just during WW2, but also on several ships at or around the placeholder BR of 3.7 assigned to the event 's Type 7( though they’re currently lacking that functionality ).

But yes, we’re not likely to see post-Cold War submarines like Vigilant before wartime ones - lowest capability usually comes first when they’re introducing new naval vehicle classes. In that respect, I’m wondering if we’ll see WW1 submarines as part of the initial selection - there 's already the Mk.9 torpedo in the files to support the possibility of an american S-class:

Though there is also evidence of surface-ship ASW weaponry of similar age to the Vigilant-class being readied for later:

The F-89J not being here is especially unusual, since it 's model has been leaked numerous times:

But after the J35J/J35XS, it seems they really do not believe that the AIM-4 or it 's derivatives possess performance which would justify them being ingame - we’ll wait and see if anything happens, but current evidence is against it 's appearance. And as a result, aircraft which solely use it as armament are unlikely to appear either.
