Does it actually pull less Gs?
People tend to make it out like MICAs are those godlike ARHs based on their maneuverability, yet compare them to C5s

Afaik it still pulls 35
I think its 35 lmao
Right but in terms of WT it’s kinda moot. Like rarely anyone dies to AIM-54s launched at range. Everyone’s already on the deck to avoid those, so it would feel like a waste to use them at range as opposed to close up when you can “guarentee” a hit (or at least increase the odds).
Supposedly according to that thread, but also at best the same performance as the As, between 28 and 35 Gs. The notable difference is range as @XSpaz1NOuTX pointed out, but in WT range means very little.
Basically, I’m not looking at what new vehicles and weapons do IRL. I look at it in terms of what it would be once it’s transferred into the game with its simplified mechanics and then how the simplified version compares to what we already have.
Range not mattering isnt necessarily true the Phoenix cant be used to its full potential because the size of the maps they arent big enough to allow it to climb to 80k feet in loft like it should and allow it maximum range
But it wouldn’t matter if everyone is on the deck and multi-pathing just makes radar missiles whiff. Ironically, the AIM-54s are scariest because even if they whiff they have a big explosive mass that could still splash the aircraft.
Its very unfortunate people dont want to learn how the weapons work properly and use them to their advantages
Yeah, I don’t know much about the specifics either, I just pick up whatever seems logical from threads online
If they really are not that different, in terms of maneuverability then that point I guess really is moot.
Leaves only the question of what platforms would be chosen to keep everyone semi competitive
I mean, the thing is, if we would have to use these weapons properly, we wouldnt be hugging the deck
Yea, it feels weird that the meta is allowed to let people just be on the deck and be safe. I feel like the biggest change to the game wouldn’t be Fox 3s, but minimizing multi-pathing effect so that being on the deck is no longer safe because even Fox 1s would then be deadlier.
Yea, it’d be a slightly better sparrow with the caveat of being fire and forget. I don’t know if they have IFF though, so maybe it’d be risky to use them at range if they don’t.
ty
Wish theyd overhaul air RB and SB and give us slightly more realistic flight mechanics and performance so people have to learn use stuff properly, or a new game mode even , side not I want realistic fuel loads as well
It’s always weird to me that a lot of people are whining about SARH missiles not working when hugging the deck as if that was some fantasy mechanic
I wonder how these people would react if they got sniped from 30 km by these missiles in a setting without multi pathing/ground noise
Just to think of the amount of whining if early SARH missiles weren’t modelled to act like they have monopulse seekers
Imagine if the Phoenix actually could get it RWR deadzones like it should
I kinda dont have to, as with the new RWR of the Lazur-M I’ve had plenty of opportunities where phoenixes actually got close to me because I couldnt tell what the hell the RWR was going off of
4 directions on RWR against 12.0 is fun
Havent flown a 21 in a long time tbh
I don’t know how the russian ones are doing, but some of the german migs have extremely weak RWRs now, it might be more realistic, but from a balancing standpoint it makes no sense to limit their RWRs to the point where you might as well have no RWR at all
They keep making passes at RWR’s, which is great from a realism point of view, but for Soviet mains it’s suffering, because their RWR’s were so far behind the west and you feel that when trying too notch
Apart from it getting harder and harder to notch due to top tier getting better radars, it really is near impossible to properly notch when your RWR literally only has indicators for south-west, south-east, north-west and north-east
4-Point RWRs are hell
So if Opytny from leaks was real then I hope Bolzano is too.
Maybe she will be next naval prize for Winter Event.
That would be awesome.
