with the Hornet having a steeper increase in drag in the transonic region due to is relatively shallow wing sweep

With new custom BRs I think this is exactly what they are going to do. There really isn’t any reason not to, now that it can still have a lower regular BR, and just go up with things like Meteor and IRIS-T added.
Doesn’t mean they’ll be added for balancing purposes.
