Simplest solution i see is just giving them more resupply ammo.
like an exception to how it currently works to give it more missiles to resupply
16 or 20 missiles would be nice… like your average pantsir

Yeah, 8 is just way to few. They also really gotta go over the reload inconsistencies. SPAA without a magazine or stowage to reload from shouldnt randomly have a long reload time. Some are ready to fire instantly some take up to 20s to reload with seemingly no real consistency from what i can tell
maybe the replenish rate is different or something but from what i can tell not really
NOMADS and EldE 98 have no place in the game other than a quick throwaway sam.
Forget intercepting munitions when its a waste of a missile.
Other sams can atleast hold their ground and intercept a few munitions before being overwhelmed.
can we at least see the challenger 2s get their ready rack sized fixed as well before even more tanks get the same reload
Elde 98 even more since they havent figured out how to make a powered trailer, it freaks out over the tiniest bump, and if you try to turn or reverse you will jackknife yourself instantly and just stop on the spot.
Idk how they tought it was ready to be implemented when it just doesnt work
na I highly doubt it, they chose the earliest configuration for the Lion they will probably choose to make it exactly the same as Roma and Litorio
Day 1355 of waiting for Polish tech tree
Well to stay on topic on the next update
more missiles for NOMADS and EldE 98 would vastly improve them against newer threats
Reminder 2A7V have 80mm less KE armor on UFP than 122A. Despite 2A7 being 30 years newer.
Of course, but that should happen regardless.
honestly that is what annoys me the most about everything getting a 5 second reload now is that originally the challenges 5s reload was balanced out by having a 4 round ready rack and after that its worse then a T72
I’m not. I just know it wont get more…
tbf helicopters just need changed at top tier anyway, LIRDCM shouldn’t just be a forcefield, shouldn’t cover the whole helicopter and they need their RCS massively increased from the blades so they cant just sit still and be completely immune to ARH missiles
Except not all helicopter have this level of coverage tho
the helicopter update covers the forcefield issue
LIRDCM can be overwhelmed… but SAMs would need more ammo to try deal with the SPAM
Because he’s clearly Lofty
After all I heard, no. The “laser beam” allegedly has a beam opening of 2°, so more like a giant flashlight and jams missiles much further out (up to 3 km as far as I’m informed). Means that every missile fired from the same launcher gets jammed at once as they’re all inside the cone of the laser beam.
Usually even normal laser pointers you can buy in a store have a beam opening of 0,06 to 0,12° so much less than this DIRCM “laser” has. The irony is: At 3 km out, even with a 10 kW laser pulse, the energy reaching an IR sensor (25 cm² lense size) from a beam with a 2° opening angle is as small as 0,0029 watts and even as close as 250 meters would only have the seeker receive 0,418 watts. So nowhere close for jamming or even damaging the sensor at all.
Additionally, if we take a laser with a 0,09° beam opening, you would have to direct that laser as precise as 0,0005° to hit a 25 cm² target at 3 km and 0,0057° at 250 meters. This all for a moving target and moving and vibrating platform. Even locating and following the target precise enough is already insanely difficult. Overall I would say that DIRCM is on one hand completely wrong implemented and on the other hand way too reliable.
The missing HOJ (Home-On-Jam) mode of IIR missiles is another point…
again its better than what we had before
i like the quirk it can be overwhelmed with enough missiles.
Still think a strong beam can completely blind a IR missile given that you target the right spectrum.
We shouldn’t be satisfied with a better but still bad solution. They would just take it as their ticket to not care about it anymore as the “players are satisfied”.
If you launch all eight missiles from the same launcher, none of them will reach the target as they’re all still getting blinded simultaneously because they all fly close enough to one another to be inside the single laser cone.
There is a study how much energy is needed to blind a PbS based IR-sensor. To cause a temporary blindspot (saturation of the sensor area) 6,1 W/cm² of energy are needed as a CW laser (not pulsed, but continous laser beam, so maximum energy transmission per unit of time).
Nautical miles are convenient to use because it directly lines up with the latitude and longitude system. 60 nautical miles is one degree longitude at the equator.
So one nautical mile is one minute of angle traveled around the earth.
