Educated guess :
ASRAAM will probably be better in a Down => Up scenario because lighter, fast and aerodynamic
MICA IR will probably be better in a Up => Down scenaro because heavier (likely a more favorable ballistic coefficient) + lofting
I’d still take MICA because of the confirmed datalink, but it is closer than some would think

well, it does have aero heating as a separate bullet point. with the ASRAAM not having that thick skin its possible the outside gets that hot from the motor as well and cant really cool down well since its going at supersonic speed.
and that source still doesnt say the speed, while the MBDA source shows it in comparison to other missiles. the MBDA source also specifically names the AIM-9X and IRIS-T as missiles its being compared to, so i think its the better source
Both are MBDA sources. Also for those temps to be reached, the missile would need to be going mach 5.

the first one is still the better source. even if you use the IRIS-T with its claimed top speed of mach 3, its a mach 4 IR missile which is an actually plausible number while still fulfilling other claims of the ASRAAM’s large speed advantage.
theres also a whole rocket motor inside of the missile
I might be wrong but I am pretty sure the ground based versions of missiles tend to be very different than the air versions in WT

Why is there so much hate regarding the addition of the F-15IA, considering that the British and Italian Eurofighters don’t even exist [in reality]? This specific aircraft is an advanced version of the F-15E—much like the British and Italian EFT T4s—and I don’t recall anyone being upset when those were added to the game. Just calm down a bit; it’s a game meant for us to have a good time, so enjoy the new aircraft and stop complaining.
expand the screenshot, you will see aero-heating and the >1000 C are separate bullet points and it does not say its just the aero heating making it hit those temperatures
also, mach 5+ is not that plausible for an IR missile of its size. especially with the “few tens of seconds thing”

People have tested the current 9X on jets using edited missions and it doesn’t behave anywhere near where it should

That’s because they don’t have the limits placed on them to help them be stable when trying to fire at targets at small angles. They essentially turn too hard and flatspin themselves

Okey so what supposed to do if remove the Italian EFT T4 and the F 15IA will be happy after than come on it’s a game guys Don’t get offended. Essentially someone bug reported using the KNDS leaflet for rhe 2a8, which was cloned 1 to 1 from the 2a7DK variant with a parking camera… but since it’s a mistake on the manufacturers end and gaijin seems to lack the nuance or common sense to realise otherwise, this is completely fictional unless both 2A8 variants are added with the camera from the 2a7DK
