So, what’s the main benefit to the C-5? is it just extra range or is there something more to it?
Is it 27er levels of range and speed?
No guidance delay, more G and a longer sustainer iirc
So off the rail turning and longer range for sure. Didn’t the c-5 have clipped wings though making it pull less G?
It did have clipped wings but did also pull more G I think?
hmmm. Wonder if were gonna get some leaks about it soon lol
Longer range, higher G, better seeker, faster, more energy.
Personally I wish Gaijin just added the C-4 with improved load but not improved range for just the F-18s, but if the 120C-5 is being added it’s important that all nations keep parity instead of just the US and Israel
thats why all the 14.0 planes with the worst average stats got 120C5, to attempt to give them parity to the 14.0 planes with better average stats
So when the F-15E/I starts sky rocketing above everyone else in terms of “player stats” does that mean everyone else can get Aim-120C8s?
no if that happens they will probably heavily nerf 120C5 like they did to 120A/B right after they were added
Given Strike Eggles are seemingly misused as bombtrucks, I doubt even 120Ds would change much.
At the same time, if Eggles get C5, their stats somehow skyrocket, then either C5 gets nerfed, removed or other 14.0 get C5. All options will result in Eggles falling behind again, with last scenario of “AK47s C5s for everyone” might result in Eggles getting C8
No sustainer, but a very long burning rocket motor
less
no sustainer at all
The clipped wings don’t really matter, there were other upgrades done to increase the maximum G overload and improve High-Off-Bore-Capabilities though
well in game it is currently slightly less maneuverable than the 120a/b
Yes, on the devserver, which is WIP
No next gen IR missiles for aircraft this year. Upgrades to current ones? Yes add new IRCCM and upgraded motors but we need to see how the upgraded ones we have in game will perform before we even think to add the next generation.
No it means that they add another broken missile for a few months to the russians or another blue country duh. I also highly doubt the C5 will be OP it just has more range due to less drag but loses to A/B in short ranges due to its loft.
Or YK it will be OP because of how MP doesn’t work with a missile coming directly top down. ( At least in real life)
not right now!
I think when top tier jets get their jamming systems and higher br 15.0 would better to add them then
Every weapon is the game is modeled incorrectly m8… they are all rebuffed versions. the 120c is no different.
I don’t have an issue with the Typhoon getting it, nice way to try and put words that were never said in a text there bud. The word Typhoon doesn’t even come up.
Also if you look at the original comment that the one you commented to coincides with, I give the ranges for the 120b vs 120c and in it you can see I show how the 120b is better at low altitude while the 120c is better at high altitude.
New files dropped an hour ago gotta go do some math,
for a starter the changes are: range / speed / turning / sensor
120c-5 (new data as of 1 hour) vs 120b
-
120c-5 should be worse turning at the beginning, but should be better after about 10 miles of flight
-
Acceleration should be slightly faster than the 120b, but not by much (before it was slower)
-
Radar seeker is the same, 0 differences
-
Missile no longer lofts into the stratosphere
-
Range is improved; it is no longer just a situationally based missile.
- These ranges are based on a launch aircraft at 1.2 Mach and a target aircraft, not maneuvering at the same altitude.
- At 5000ft altitude, 120C now has 6 miles better range than the 120b (before the 120b had 6 miles more than the 120c, so major change)
- At 16000ft altitude, 120c has 15 miles more range than 120b
- At 32000ft altitude, 120c has 19.3 miles more range than 120b
I have checked the findings in-game as well, and the math shows to be correct within the margins of error.
- The range in reality is always going to be less as the range I put is under perfect conditions, reality you take half of it due to people maneuvering so the actual effective range from 32000 feet for instance is really about 30 miles as opposed to the data 69 miles (which is frankly insane distance because that’s about 10 miles more of effective range then a 120b)
- Acceleration of the C5 is slightly further but it’s almost negligible, they are almost the same speed the entire way to the target even at someone 40 miles away.
This is why I didn’t want them to change the 120c from what it was. Before, you had a missile that was not OP and could be used alongside a 120b due to them being situational-based. Now, it’s just better.
