New UI text display

Let’s not change the classic old ones. The new text for stuffs looks CHEAP.
Referring to Overloads, etc.
& Nobody needs to be taught to retract flaps and gears…

Gaijin, I have more than 3.5k hours in the game, I don’t need turbo handhold tutorial UI mode. Please let us turn this off or customize what we want to see. I understand you want to make the game accessible to the people that play for 2 hours total but this is too much.

When the key is assigned, the key graphic is huge as hell and blocks too much of the screen, not counting the text already being annoying for flaps.

This is exactly why I’m mad about it. I have the same ish amount of hours as you on steam alone, I know what I’m doing. Also aircraft being restricted from deploying flaps at high speeds? What? So many times I’ve died in dogfights because I set up a reversal, but oh no I’m going half a kilometre too fast, flaps won’t deploy. Why? Before, you could easily manage flaps even when deploying them from overspeeding by not letting them deploy fully, now you just cant. Sure its a help for new players who only need it on landing, but me personally I DONT want it

It just looks so dated, and bad.

The messages have always been in WT, it’s not like they’re new.

I understand they were always there, but you didn’t have it permanently blocking view (the text was flashing, giving you some glimpse beyond the text), and there was no key icon (or text in my case) cluttering the screen even more. The black shadow behind the text does not help with visibility (of the game) either.
Thank god I don’t have a guide on how to map keys show up while flying with the flaps down.

Not being able to see what enemies are doing in that area while messages are being shown will make it significantly harder to dodge and aim at opponents. It SHOULD flash to let us see what is happening in front of us. And some of the messages should be moved to the borders of the screen, like high engine RPM or flap retraction messages. Only thing that should stay in the same position is overload g messages, and only if it flashes like it always did.

Some aircraft IRL had systems blocking flaps from coming down or automatically retracting them if you’re going too fast. You can drop flaps on planes that do not have those systems, so in that regard everything is working as it should. Don’t know if you could disable those systems. Some planes had automatic flap deployment systems that are unmodeled in the game, too.

I don’t even consider WT to have a UI when it’s just text on a screen, especially when connection issues, artillery or overload has the same format.

Somehow I doubt the OS2U had it lol
