New T&Cs, 3 Years Inactivity

Hello all

I have just heard that the game’s T&Cs have been updated. One change I’m actually pleased about, but there’s another I have huge concerns over.

If what I hear is true, accounts not used after 3 years can be completely deleted. I know the old adage is “if I paid for something, I should be able to keep it”, and while I’m not totally in that corner, I have to say that having your account deleted simply for inactivity really does rub me the wrong way.

I want solace and reassurance that if I take a break from the game (as I have done once or twice before), that it will be waiting for me when I come back (barring any closure of the game as a whole of course).

If this is true, what are opinions on this? I heard that an email warning is sent out to the player before their account is removed for inactivity, but I don’t even USE the email I created my account with a decade ago anymore. I only check it maybe once or twice a year.

I hope they setup an email service in the year 3 sending emails every month or so asking for the user to confirm that he wants to keep the account. Just a confirmation check, no need to install and login in-game.

In the full thing it did mention they had to provide notice

instead of deleting probaly deactivated the account will be a better option after you came back probaly just ask support or activitate the account again.

remove this terms it trash.

I know Gaijin don’t want my money anymore. They apparently don’t want people to invest in their products anymore… It’s like someone is trying to run the game and company into the ground.

To be clear (there’s another thread on changes to the TOS that I started), the three-years inactivity rule came in in a EULA change in late 2023. No one noticed it til now because no one reads click-through EULAs, I expect :)

(Inb4 someone from Gaijin points this out.)
