For sure, and same with the Foch’s too.
However, I don’t think those tanks would be seeing the Panthers anyways.
Well from my experience, as I said before, as long as they don’t angle the hull perfectly (either by accident or on purpose), and they aren’t on an incline, it should go through most times, especially with the T26E1-1 (or T32)'s T41 shell, and especially the IS-2’s BR-471B / D.
Most of the time (from my experience), if they’re on a pretty flat terrain, they don’t bother (and really shouldn’t bother) angling because of the extremely weak side armour.
It’s much easier to kill them via UFP shot if you’re close up too (around <200m).
Well, I’m not arguing that they should be competing with the T20 at the same BR. I think the T-34-85 at 5.7 is fine and the stabilized T-34-85 would be fine at 6.0.
At those BRs, you can get away with having relatively bad armour because of its mobility (not having to confront things frontally in most cases in the first place, unlike the Panther) and the ability to side-scrape pretty well with its engine block, effectively giving you an easy shot on them while also forcing them to aim for the turret.
Oh and I suppose PZH-2000s derping IS-2s is perfectly fine with you? M-44 from the mid 1950s at 4.0 is all cool yeah?
that is my preference too but it needs to be a consistent standard. Why should the BOOT (sorry XM800T) get DM63, but the T-72M2 Moderna only gets AP for its auto cannon when the APDS round was standard issue 10 years prior?
A lot of these issues would be avoided if Gaijin just picked a standard and stuck to it.
PZH2000 should be 8.0, so I agree with you that it isn’t fine.
I don’t really see any issue with that 😅
Well I think it’s mostly a balancing issue. APDS for the Moderna would be incredibly good, hence why it’s stuck with just AP and HE.
XM800T would be abysmal if it only had access to 20mm APCR.
I was responding to a post about date of service, I get its not always viable, but yeah I should have just left it at the PZH-2000. T-34-85s and M-44 actually fought each other in Korea so its not too bad.
So why is a T-34 getting a round it didn’t use for balance different to the boot getting a round it didn’t use for balance? I’m not saying either way is “wrong” but people demanding one thing get ammo it never used for balance, then complaining another thing got ammo for balance because it never actually used it gets annoying after a while.
M44s in war thunder are also much less versatile, hence why it’s so low of a BR.
I don’t think there’s a huge problem, but I would prefer if vehicles get balanced based on what they have access to (such as not giving the Moderna APDS) rather than what they don’t actually have (like giving that T-34-85 access to a round they never used)
So I agree with you that there are some consistency issues with how Gaijin determines what should and should not be given based on ‘historical accuracy’, but I don’t have any issues with Gaijin not giving certain ammunition to certain vehicles for balancing reasons.
I think we basically agree, we just had a misunderstanding (although ill point out the Moderna uses the same autocannon as the BMP-2, it’s APDS was developed in 1982 and Moderna was a 1992 prototype)
People need to get over the “it’s good when it benefits the nation I play, but if Gaijin dose the same with any other nation it BIAS!”
For example the USA players that demanded that BOOT got DM-63 cuz it could use it now complaining that all the nations that have AH-64Es getting JAGMs because “they didn’t buy it”
For Japan I don’t see much of an issue since they definitely needed a better top tier helicopter, but I don’t really see why China needed an AH-64E, and possibly even France. Britain needed a better helicopter more-so than China as they already have the Z-10ME.
(This is kinda getting off-topic)
I main Japan so yeah that was the only option for F&F that was available.
Those should have been FAR lower priority to add at least (I’m not getting into the China issue AGAIN).
I think Gaijin just hates the Commonwealth… cant think of any other reason the Republics are in the UK tree and the Realms have their stuff broken into multiple trees… but we are now far off topic, so I will wish you good night and thank you for having a calm and reasonable discussion! 07
nope, its not and i believe i never said that? its equally bs but at least those have severe drawbacks especially in sim with even worse gun handling and giant size without meaningful armor making it very hard to brawl with, 0 gun depression and are giant targets for he and autocannons. Though obviously annoying af (the vidar in sim is a prime example of something that also has no business in the bracket it is in, fighting early cold war vehicles with laserrangefinder, 3rd gen thermals and stuff, while it could easily do as good in a higher bracket) the problem is that in RB you get up and downtiers so in matches where pzh2000 and vidar are fully uptiered or uptiered they see stuff they maybe should actually be paired with. in sim theyre basically always fully downtiered.
Similarly the pt76-57 and the to-55 both have several of these important advantages over almost everything in their SIM bracket while being the top dogs makes them dominate every single match on the days their bracket is on. And i dont think its good for gameplay to have tanks that, just because they are premium or event vehicles (or in case of the t-34 '(STP) in case it gets a full stabilizer has such a gian advantage over every other vehicle that has to wait for 3 seconds to stop, or almost stop to perform precise shots. Doesnt matter which nation these vehicles would be from. Just so happens that the to-55 and pt-76-57 are the ones i had many encounters and unfun experiences with lately. they could easily go higher in their sim brackets and still do equally well (or even better in the pts case cause theres lots of cold war nato tanks with much less armor than the ww2 ones but these at least would have a somewhat better chance to get in any positions first and react due to better gun handling than ww2 vehicles getting shot in the side from a stabilized autocannon with 0.5 sec reload and laserrangefinder somewhere in between their spawn and halfway to the caps on some of the big sim maps)
Obviously if the t34(STP) this thread is about would only get a short stop stabilizer similar to the shermans and jumbos that problem wouldnt be as pronounced and it being in a higher br than the t34-85 would add some variety to that higher br lineup (6.3 or whatever someone said on the dev) so it could be balanced after all…i guess we will see anyhow
wow youre going on a full ramble here. though im actually enjoying that while trying to understand what you are actually fuming about, maybe you should make a tea, lean back in your seat and take two long deep breaths of fresh air?
