Also, I would like to see this in an actual match, not custom battles where variables can be changed. I have played light vehicles long enough to know that such scouting as shown here is basically impossible in actual matches.

That is a huge exaggeration. Maps with significant cover are exceedingly common, while large, flat maps lacking cover are rare. Just look at the list of ground maps.

It’s just that the new SPAA, especially with AIM-9X and such, are excessively powerful against drones. Other SPAA are less powerful:
Cannon-armed SPAA have too high dispersion to efficiently shoot down drones at range
Early SACLOS SPAA lack maneuverable missiles to keep up with the drone autopilot
Top tier SACLOS SPAA are powerful against drones, but their missiles can be dodged with active and skillful maneuvering
In contrast, the new fire and forget SPAA are practically all-powerful against scout drones (strike drones too, although off topic). No amount of maneuvering can save you. This leads to a worsening balance situation at top tier: scout drones are made effectively unusable, destroying light tanks’ effectiveness and leading to a less diverse top tier. You only have 1 drone. If it is destroyed, you must sit still for 45 seconds in a capture point, an eternity in the short ground battles. And this, too, will be destroyed by the powerful new SPAA instantly upon spawning, with plenty of ammo to spare.
Nobody expects light tanks to perform as well as MBTs multiple BRs above them at top tier, but I think they should be given a niche use, as they have in real life.
Bro, that shit is broken lol it is technically scout drone with the ability to mark an enemy “with extra steps”, if that is something acceptable, gaijinx would have give us the ability to mark targets with a scout drone bro, just two light tanks sitting at spawnpoint can definitely turn realistic battles into arcade.
This is true, however, HE-VT and AHEAD shells can take out drones with ease.
Not true, VT-1, OSA, Roland have a big enough proxy fuze to deal with them, even K Stingers are effective.
Almost nobody is actively maneuvering their drones and even then, the proxy fuze is going to take care of them.
That’s really not a compelling argument for denying Air defense the tools to destroy drones.

The argument is having room for skill one both ends. No one enjoyed the su 34 launching missles last update from a distance no one but a pantsir could engage. Now the roles are simply reversed which doesnt solve the problem.
then why dont we let the su 34 have 100% hit chance against all spaa outside of theyre launch range as they get free air control denying air is making playing the game way easier. see how that sounds? doesnt make much sense

spaa are design to take down aerial target, which include drone. 100% hit chance because they can actually hit the target, drone are slow and easy to hit vs a planes, so 100% hit rate is logical
also mind you, su-34/30sm with kh-38mt can already do that pretty well against any form of SPAA

Drones are too strong in this game. With one drone you can literally scout the entire enemy team by pinging with the drone and scouting through walls with your light tank.
That would be true if MBTs had scout drones at top tier. But we are discussing how light tanks which on average have half the amount of pen and very little armor but more mobility will struggle fighting against other MBTs at top tier and possibly other light tanks with drones if your team didnt first spawn the new SPAA. Most people understand how lackluster the majority of light tanks are in this game which is why they get the drones and not MBTs.
And some have the audacity to call it a “tactic” even tho gaijin literally tried to fix it, there really should be a report put in that it can still be done.
