The new SP costs for spawning aircraft with ordnance is very harsh. It also does not stop the first CAS bomb spam attempt from happening, as you spawn high enough to dive for free revenge kills. This punishes anyone using less potent ordnance just trying to have fun, such as with HVARs, RP-3’s, and 50kg bombs. 20mm spam against engine decks can still happen with these new changes, as unladen aircraft can spawn without the added penalty.
The changes to the cost of the ‘default’ belts with 40mm+ penetration is also insane. The point of that belt is to be less effective for less cost, and now there is no reason to not just spam the all-AP belts instead. Some aircraft, such as the Tsetse Mosquito and Tempest MkV (Vickers P), can’t even choose their belts. This dooms already under-utilized aircraft to ridiculous SP costs. So instead of having fun, people will now just choose bomb spamming as their only choice.
A better solution would be to revert all the SP cost changes and force ALL aircraft with AP belts or ordnance to spawn on the airfield. This would prevent spawning and diving in with 10000lb of bombs for a free revenge kill (which everybody hates and is generally unhealthy for the game). When all aircraft spawned on the airfield for that short while recently, CAS revenge spam dropped dramatically WITHOUT SP cost increases. Artificially limiting fun because of one problematic playstyle is a bad decision overall.
TL;DR is to revert SP cost changes for aircraft in Ground RB and force all AP belt or ordnance-loaded aircraft to airfield spawn instead. This has already been proven to slow CAS spam and hinder revenge kills.
