Kh-31 is the least of the worries imo, Kh-28 is a huge problem for lower br’s and if 5th gens come along with the SEAD mechanics the missile you gotta watch out for is the Kh-58USHK-TP because it’s a multi seeker missile, specifically a Kh-58USHK with IIR seekers slightly behind the radome (seen circled here on this USHKE-TP model)
BVVD if I remember right said in a q&a that he questions the efficiency of early anti-radiation missiles, so it seems they may skip to later generations of anti-rad missiles
But doesnt mean that
- all Nation will be on equal footing
- that all nations will get ARM from similar ish eras
Could be Martels vs Kh-31 for example. Wouldnt be much different to AGM-65 vs KH-38MT
The issue with ARM is that the soviet ARM’s start with the Kh-28, which travels nearly twice as fast and about 20 km further than it’s contemporary the standard arm

KH-28 seems to be Mach 3 at a range of around 110km
AGM-88 seems to be Mach 2.9 at a range of around 148km
ALARM seems to be about Mach 2.0 at a range of around 93km
Martel is already in-game in a ahistorical TV guided version, so just swap that out for an ARM seeker.
Uh… Thats… a grey area.
There is a photo, of a Typhoon, with 2x ALARM fitted to the wings and in theory could have been mounted to more pylons.

ya forgot the AGM-78 in there, mach 1.8, 90 km range, and also the contemporary to Kh-28, they would presumably come under aircraft such as the Su-17M4, MiG-27’s, various F-4 variants and so on, literally making an entire br bracket of air defense near useless

Edit; i was right, the Kh-25MP came into service in late 1980 while the Kh-28 entered service in 1978
Kh-31P and Kh-58 would be peak gameplay
This is not necessarily true, for example the AH-64 / AH-66’s ESM have a Self-Protect mode which uses the contact’s line of bearing to cue the Radar to Spotlight a target, and then automatically cue up a Hellfire so it can return fire in one button press.

For balance at best then probably (side eyeing the JAS39A with the never even tested Sky flashes (RB71) that the plane IRL didn’t even have the radar to be able to guide).
